Meet Jamie Anderson of Parker-Anderson Enrichment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Anderson.

The best thing about Jamie and Josh is that they are still kids at heart, designing their enrichment programs according to the motto, “Fun Comes First”.

In 1986, he started teaching after-school karate classes and within two years had partnerships with many schools in Los Angeles. He branched out into other areas of enrichment, developing programs with an eye on what kids like and what is good for them: science experiments, arts, robotics, and sports.

When Josh Parker came along as one of the most popular chess teachers in LA, he and Jamie quickly formed a model program that currently offers over 50 types of enrichment classes to thousands of elementary school students.

Parker-Anderson’s relationships with schools are firmly established and their commitment to quality is unwavering.

They have developed franchises in eight states and counting…!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would say the road has been quite smooth since neither Josh nor I had high expectations initially- we were just young and trying to make ends meet!

When our business took off it was because of the programs we provided after school. They appealed to working parents and provided fun enrichment classes that kids wanted to be in. Schools talk to schools and parents talk to other parents so we have had built-in advertising since the start. We have also provided a unique working schedule for younger and older people who want part-time work and like to work with kids.

For over twenty-five years, Parker-Anderson Enrichment has offered the most diverse selection of kids programs that any franchise has to offer. Our motto is “Fun Comes First,” our intention is to educate through hands-on learning, and our hope is that students around the world can share our abundant array of classes. Specializing in programs for K-9th grades, our classes range from Tech, Arts, Robotics, and Chess, to Sports, Mock Trial, Public Speaking, and much more. We are after-school enrichment!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We have developed our business over time by listening to the parents and schools who work with us. Following the advances in web technology from when we started in the late 80’s to today, we have made huge strides in ease of use for everyone from the schools we work with to the teachers we employ, to the parents who enroll their children in our programs. What has not changed is our desire to please all, from Principals of schools to kindergartners who bounce into our classes every day after school!
