Today we’d like to introduce you to Izek Rose.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to create music, and my family made it easy for me to follow that passion. At four years old, I joined my older sisters in weekly violin lessons, they were already taking it seriously with youth state symphonies, bands, and playing in weddings, making a musical world that I was able to be immersed in.
It was through some of their friends that I got into guitar and DJ mixing through my early teens, then when I found out about producing from friends that were DJing, that really got me started. Producing let me incorporate all the things I loved about sounds and instruments into songs from my room.
After high school, I decided to keep pursuing with an education from Icon Collective production school in Los Angeles, California and graduated spring of 2019. Since then, I’ve released several singles, two mini-albums, and trying to progress with each one.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Mixing is a challenge for myself, I’m grateful for my friends that help me in that area.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I produce, write, sing, and occasionally engineer my own music as well as collaborating with other singers, songwriters, and producers. Through music production, I develop tracks that create spaces for other artists or myself to provide further depth or a message. I’m really pumped on the fact that I’ve been able to do this with friends and create with others.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
My parents letting me turn a spare bedroom into a home studio before I left the house and then when I did, letting me go to school for music which helped me with aspects of the industry, was pretty lucky. Some YouTube channels putting my songs on their platforms was a huge blessing. Anytime I go anywhere, I forget things, DJ gigs with miss placed chords, performances with no capo, and hotel rooms that’ve claimed chargers, all the luck gets mixed in.
