Meet Hollywood Photographer: Yasmine Kateb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine Kateb.

Yasmine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started out photographing comp cards for modeling and talent agencies in Texas. Later, I started getting bookings from California so I started traveling back and forth. Now I reside in Los Angeles photographing for multiple magazines, designer’s campaigns/lookbooks, and portraits for several artists, entertainers and models etc. I recently had my first solo fine arts photography exhibit “Motion in Still” at O gallery in Hollywood.

Has it been a smooth road?
I definitely had my bumps along the way, and of course, through everything in life there are those everyday struggles but I can say that it has been smooth overall because I have been extremely fortunate to work with such amazing supportive people along the way. My best advice to keeping things smooth- have a great support system, an amazing lawyer, and to stay focused on what you are trying to achieve.

What role has luck had in your life and career?
The role that has played in my life and career has been good luck, I have been very fortunate to get to where I am today.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being grateful.

What do you love about our city and what do you dislike?
I have been living in Los Angeles for one year now. What I love the most is the diversity of the city, there is so much going on all the time. I especially love how there are many great beach locations for photo shoots, I get to shoot then swim right after! What I least like about the city is the traffic.
