Meet Hoan Do of The Samurai Coach in West Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hoan Do.

Hoan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been interested in leadership since a very young age. In 2006, I met Shihan Arakaki, the grandmaster of Musokai Karate, and became his student. He taught me Karate and coached me powerfully at the same time. I never met a human being who was so interested in another human being like Shihan. He was also a great leader. Shihan influenced me greatly to follow the path of becoming a coach. The John Maxwell team happened to provide both of what I love: leadership and coaching. I started with the John Maxwell team to become a leadership coach in early 2015.

Since joining the John Maxwell team, I coached many people including entrepreneurs, small business owners, managers, engineers, and run my leadership mastermind groups to equip others with leadership skills.

In 2016, I became very interested in Steve Chandler’s work. He’s known as the godfather of coaching for his great contribution to the coaching world. I joined his school, Advanced Client System (ACS) also known as the coaching prosperity school. I was literally transformed from a leadership coach to a transformational coach, going through Steve’s school. I decided to go ahead with my coaching practice early 2017, with the name: The Samurai Coach.

This name came from my years of Karate training with Shihan Arakaki, learning the most effective ancient Japanese art of empty-hand fighting, and the transformation work that I was influenced by John Maxwell and Steve Chandler. I was also greatly influenced by the works of Bob Proctor and Werner Erhard.

I commit myself to help others transform their lives to live to their fullest potential without any limiting beliefs.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Getting the time to dedicate to the coaching practice has been a challenge. I have my full-time job as a leader. Hence, I could only coach people after work and during the weekend.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Samurai coach – what should we know?
We specialize in life coaching, leadership coaching, and transformational leadership training. What set the Samurai coach a part from others are my own journey of becoming a coach. I experienced powerful coaching myself and studied from the best: Shihan Arakaki, John Maxwell, Bob Proctor, and Steve Chandler. What I learned, I practiced and mastered for my own life.
