Meet Hannah Marie Muse

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Marie Muse.

Hannah Marie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Thanks for asking : )

I think we’ve all had some sort of crazy childhood or traumatic experiences growing up. As I continue to let go of old stories (while still honoring their impact) I recognize it’s less about getting stuck on the content of what happened to us and more about the way we move forward with life once those painful experiences occur.

To reconnect to the inner child and create a life where one can stay in the pure innocence, bliss, and imagination is of utmost importance. To give ourselves healthy ways of processing the past or even current pains creates a life that is both sustainable and pleasurable. I spent a solid, gosh, nearly a decade of my life numbing myself out with alcohol and drugs thinking I was partying when I was really just coping.

There’s no shame in that – it was a big part of my awakening process. It took me going far from the path so that I could remember my truth and connect to the sacredness of life. Without those years of “exploration and research” I wouldn’t have discovered so many spiritual truths that eventually lead me to balance and harmony. The walk on the wild side is simply a way to connect to others – I believe we find a lot of intimacy through sharing vulnerably with others, and that we all have a lot in common. We all want happiness and we all experience pain. That’s life. What we do with it is what matters — and I’ve chosen to use my life as a way to make art.

In my younger years, when I was partying.. it was such an adventure traveling with bands, making art. What began as drinking in high school went to partying in pleasure.. and then eventually became a problem. I was using substances to connect.. when what I really needed was family. I needed intimacy and real, simple pleasures of deep friendships. I needed art. Friendships where I could hold hands and skip and cry and laugh till I peed myself.

I always remember questioning everything growing up as a kid. From religion to the educational system.. and even why I had to celebrate holidays I didn’t stand for. What especially bothered me growing up was the way people are hard on themselves and compare themselves to others. We are born into the world and unknowingly get all these definitions of what life is supposed to be like, how we are supposed to define happiness, and even what we’re supposed to look like. I think that’s bull! Once you’re tapped into your personal truth (which is so beautifully varied for each person) you’re able to construct a life that is always working for you. That’s my passion – to help people construct their lives according to their own definition of happiness. To remember that self-love starts within, and that true radiance comes from knowing yourself and making your own desires and worthiness your mantra.

Right now I teach a mix of tantra, authentic relating, and yoga to men and women as a modality to live a life fully expfressed life. The mix of these modalities provides some very important tools that allow the body to heal itself naturally. When the body finds harmony, life becomes harmonious. Life really is a landscape of your inner reality.

I kept getting these really hard lessons growing up — usually because I wasn’t listening to my intuition or was using sources/people/substances outside myself to find approval or gain adoration. This would lead to really rough breakdowns. I had no idea how to connect with people authentically because it wasn’t something I learned from my family. I was afraid that because I wasn’t perfect, I wasn’t worth getting to know. My communication was shot, I was living a life so far from what my heart truly desired, and I was holding onto all this shame for being who I was and I couldn’t even tell you why! It was when I finally started practicing true self-love, got connected to my truth – and started LIVING how I knew my heart wanted, that’s when I finally evolved. It took me years of yoga and art therapy, dance classes, and boundaries to put down the detrimental ways of living and say yes to harmony, ease, and grace.

Now, I can dance myself into ecstasy – I can breathe myself into highly sensitive and powerful states of clarity — and I love making sounds that shift my vibrational frequency. I also love ALL aspects of myself. The fact that I’m sexy and innocent – that I love to pole dance and pray. I get to be whoever I want, without society or religion telling me how to show up.

This is why I now LOVE teaching that Healing/LIFE/Growth can all be done in Pleasurable ways. Not to say there won’t be pressure.. Think about the seedling bursting through its shell – there’s definitely pressure, but there’s not trauma or terror. Just the gentle urge to expand beyond what is known – into greater areas of expanded wisdom and growth.

I’m really passionate about the simple and sacred pleasures of life and I feel like that’s what keeps me humble and connected to Spirit. The way a flower smells and the fact that I’ll stop to enjoy it no matter where I’m at in the world — makes me feel like I’m living life right. My prayer is that more people stop to smell the flowers more often! That we all return to our childlike-nature, enjoying life for what it is – a miracle. That we make each moment sacred and begin honoring the ceremony that life truly is.

Through the acts of ritual and ceremony, I support people in coming back home to that place. I utilize the magic of each moment, of simple acts of life, to tune into the subconscious and rewire the mind. It’s a powerful practice and something I’m excited for more people to explore.

My life now is really full – I have great community, fulfilling work, authentic relationships that I celebrate all of life’s ups and downs with, and I’m happier than ever before. I’m not gauging my happiness on anything outside myself, but rather living up to my own definition of joy. I’m sober and have more deep, meaningful relationships in my life than ever before — and I’m so happy to be able to help others connect to themselves through these ancient-future modalities of tantra, yoga, and authentic relating.

It’s a really great place to be. I love using creative ways to guide people to their own truths. Literally, all I want is a world full of fabulous and wildly expressed, liberated humans! Doesn’t that sound so yummy?! Colorful!? Amazing!?

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh my gosh!

I wouldn’t say easy, but I am very blessed in that things are always lining up for me. I have a lot of big faith in the Universe so kind of use that to my advantage.

I think being an entrepreneur is different for everyone, though. Am I a millionaire yet.. No. Have I helped thousands of people all over the world have major life breakthroughs, connect to their hearts, and find more self-love.. YES. That for me is enough.

Am I still eager to grow, expand, and make more money — heck yes. It’s a marathon, not a spring. I’ll be doing this work for a while so I get to trust the process.

It’s not been easy though. I’m the first successful entrepreneur in my family and that’s always a bit strange. I just know that I’m meant to be my own boss and that I am meant to help people in a big way — I want to work creatively and when I’m inspired so I’ve worked for myself for as long as I can remember. It gets easier as I’ve learned to implement new systems. That, and the more I realize that the only rule is that there are no rules — so the more I remember it’s ok to follow my heart, the more I recognize that anything really is possible and I’m the artist of my own Life (and business and success) so I get to create it however I want.

Now that the company is taking off – I’m working in corporations and with clients all over the world — I’m finally investing in more of the business aspect of things. I’m excited to be able to start hiring other healing artists and eventually invest in a gorgeous temple healing space for events and healing artists to work from. It will be Muse Headquarters. 🙂

Balance and flow. Balance. and. Flow.

I recommend anyone with a warrior like spirit and a dream to just go for it.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My company is hugely an extension of my life and journey. I use an intuitive and integrative approach in order to greater self-love and radical self – expression in my clients lives. Breath + Sound + Movement + *Intention* = Powerful Change! Emotion is energy in motion so being able to either release stagnant energy or cultivate powerful confidence is so easy with these simple tools.

I personally am very connected to the spiritual side of life, so I utilize the yogic and tantric traditions to empower leaders to live more authentically and passionately. I specialize in programs that walk people from where they are in life to where they want to be. I consider these times “rites of passages.” From launching a new start-up, to deciding you want to date again, I support people in the journey to their desired outcomes. It’s my passion to make that journey one that is easy, graceful, and pleasurable. My own journey to remembering that life is meant to be fun has played a big part in my main mantra “Your Pleasure is your Power.” When we decide as a collective that life and growth and love can all be pleasurable, we’ll see some massive shifts in the way the world operates. (hallelujah!)

I’m especially known for the art of ceremony. Heaven on Earth is here now. I absolutely love using the elements, cacao, water blessings, and fire to create symbolic and potent experiences that delineate moments of my clients lives so they can truly witness their transformation and shifts from one part of life to the next. So often we forget to celebrate the successes of our new companies, or even properly grieve our pets when they pass on. My ceremonies allow people to honor all of life and move forward fully anchored in their present reality while honoring what brought them there. Ceremony is a way of life! Ritual is a way of life! Think of how much more sacred life is when you slow down to honor each breath, each sip of tea.. each time you brush your teeth! There are ways to use intention to create powerful subconscious and conscious shifts in reality — that’s my mission. Get people back to the magic of each moment (because there needn’t be any mundane!) MMM!

I’d say my tantric pujas are what most people will rave about when asked about their favorite part of my workshops are. These ceremonies are full sensory experiences that honor the divine within. ((Namaste, ya’ll)) Very powerful when worked into a program that’s already started to show hidden beliefs and rewire the brain for more pleasure in all areas of life. I absolutely LOVE celebrating the divine in people. I cry tears of joy every time I witness a woman remember how perfect her body is and how worthy she is of everything she desires. It’s my happy place to host and create and cultivate sacred spaces for my muses to get to know themselves through and through.

My other specialty and what most of the ladies in my life know me for is my sisterhood work. I am obsessed with bringing powerful people together! Especially ladies. There’s so much competition between women in the world, comparison, shaming.. ugh. It’s silly. Each of us is a flower growing in the Goddess’s garden. Each of us is necessary, beautiful, colorful, and has great purpose being here.

When I got over the idea that I had to be professionally “trained” in order to be a dancer or to teach dance my whole world turned right side up. I think that’s another societal norm I love debunking and oftentimes inspire others to as well. We all come to Earth with a special skill or talent. For me, movement is everything! Fitness, health, wellness, poetry! So, the past two years have been all about teaching movement, inspiring others to dance and expressing wildly. There have been countless times I”ll guide my women through a movement workshop and by the end, we’re all naked and howling in complete and total love and support of one another. There’s honestly no better way to practice celebrating your body or your sisters body than to move and groove in it! That’s a huge highlight of my work. Seeing women truly loving themselves, breaking through their blocks to loving their bodies and finding comfort in expressing themselves in and around other women.

Coming back to the organic way of living, breathing, and being is really important. We are definitely at a precipice on the planet right now.

We get to choose to stay positive and look for healthier, more holistic ways to live.. Or the Earth and all of us on it will suffer the consequences.

I intend to let all young women know that their bodies are temples. I intend to be a mirror for the brilliance of all the women in my life. That’s what I create in my sacred spaces.

As a company, I’m most proud of two things right now.

1. Is that I’ve officiated my first wedding and it was beyond my wildest dreams. Coming from a very traditional family I always thought marriage was this crazy thing where two people decide to own each other and that can pose some pretty big problems.

The wedding I held space for was called a Divine Soul Union and I did a private cacao ceremony in front of their families and friends instead of the actual wedding. I called in the four directions, recited poetry, spoke on the Divine Masculine and Feminine and even lead their guests through a meditation. Their commitments (or vows) were poetic. They decided not to even become legally married and instead just committed to living as their best selves in unison. Truly a powerful experience and I’m really looking forward to prayer-forming more of these ceremonies for people both as partners and in large groups of people ready to marry themselves!

2. Corporate Wellness!

My best friend and I just recently launched a start-up that goes into large business and corporations teaching authentic relating and offering communication skills, ice breakers, and wellness wisdom so that corporations and the lives of the employees and all those that they affect, are functioning in healthy ways.

It’s huge for me to have come from being kicked out of high-school to running a company that supports re-humanization in the workplace. I’m really excited to continue working in the corporate world to bring balance to the lives of so many people who help our society run. That, and to remind even corporate employees that life can be light, playful, and pleasurable — even at the workplace.

To know society is changing is huge! To be a part of a movement of men and women waking up to their inherent power and pleasure- their hearts true desires… that’s exactly where I want to be.

3. I have to share a 3rd because I recently got to share a Cacao ceremony at Hive Global Leadership Summit. There were at least 150 people at the ceremony and it was my largest to date. That, and I spoke on the same stage as Marianne Williamson. It was such a powerful experience for the guests and now I believe in the art of ceremony and cacao even more because of the feedback from the group. Such deep healing, such open hearts! People from 45 different countries all coming together to see the best in each other – that’s unity consciousness!

What sets me apart from others? Hmm… Honestly, I was made for this. Every single thing I teach is because I’ve gone through such trauma and challenge that I had to discover how to heal myself. Once I found true love for myself, my journey, and my past – I just had to start sharing it. I have a connection to life that’s magical and I bring that energy down for others to remember that life is sweet – even though bitter.

I’m truly guided by spirit to create bodywork/ceremony/and programs that are fine-tuned to the energy of the clients I’m working with — which leaves their soul’s feeling nourished, revitalized, and ready for more.

Everyone is capable of living an inspiring life! Everyone is capable of miracles, and gifts, and love: so much love!

I also love that I’m equipped with a calming energy and voice that supports others in relaxing deeply, deeply into their truth. I carry so many stories, so many traumas from the past — that I have oceans of compassion for others. I create such safe and sacred spaces for people to explore because there’s no judgment. I’ve seen and been through too much to ever judge another being. Just an open heart, loving gaze, and ability to see people as their highest selves.

What were you like growing up?
Oh, very curious. Very personable. Always ready to play outside. I made friends with everyone – I think it’s my Leo Rising. My mom told me I’d talk to anything, even the wall. I love to share stories and talk, talk, talk.

Interests were varied – loved to dance and get dirty, loved camping. My sisters always remind me how obsessed I was with “performing” for them. Would create these songs and dance numbers to share with the family. I love the stage.

I was definitely into writing poetry (my first book just published on Amazon – check it out: #40DaysofLove) Loved making costumes and creating outfits and jewelry. Have always been into playing with fire and performing.

Honestly, I just remember being awkward and goofy, though. Kind of chubby even… Got along with everyone. I just love people so it was quite easy to befriend everyone. My life didn’t really start until I got sober though. I feel like I missed a lot of my childhood years due to a traumatic upbringing. Once I did all my own trauma healing I finally got to reconnect to the pure, innocence and pleasure of being alive and now I maintain this youthful vitality that I’ll never give up for anything.

All huge reasons I’m so into helping others heal their traumas and challenges now.

That and I love working with women because I felt like such an awkward tom-boy for so many years… Like I didn’t know how to be a woman or even a little girl and it was just so strange to be a human that now I’m like, ok, how can I help other young women and beautiful women love themselves, their moon cycles, and their curves to avoid all the drama and self-hatred that is sometimes picked up out of the television and advertising. It’s funny to think back on that. I really felt like some awkward creature and after learning that’s ok, I’m grown into an exotic flower. That’s why I love supporting others see that in themselves.

I’ll never fully “grow up,” though. I intend to maintain my child-like wonder and awe forever. Cheers to child-like wonder 🙂

Thanks so much for giving me time to share my story. It’s really cathartic and I hope it inspires others to follow their dreams.
