Meet Frank Cato of Cato’s Stop & Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Cato.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Frank. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, I started out just wanting shirts to promote my own business. I really didn’t have enough to afford the shirts I wanted so I found out that it would be cheaper to buy the equipment and do them myself. Shortly after learning the basics I fell in love with the craft as well as seeing people’s face when they receive their order. After doing some personal and business orders for a few of my coworkers. Word spread and strangers started calling me asking how much do I charge. At that moment I decided to start a business with it. Especially if others agreed that I do great work.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s definitely been a bumpy road. That’s because everything was/is new to me. YouTube was my teacher. A small number of people told me as much information as they could but for the most part, I didn’t have anyone to teach me about the world I was entering. From the crafting side to the business side. I learned that on my own initiative. I had many sleepless nights learning, practicing my craft, and studying business. The road is still bumpy but now I handle it differently with the knowledge and skills I picked up along the way.

Cato’s Stop & Shop, LLC is our family-owned convenient store. It is the foundation and start of many businesses to create and sustain generational wealth. I started a (DBA) Cato’s Customs after I decided to do custom print work for others. I’m known for bringing my customer’s visions into reality. Helping startup clothing brands with merchandise of a professional feel and look. Delivering satisfaction with either there personal orders or business orders. Giving inspiration and confidence to their dream of starting there own clothing brand. I would say that I am most proud of the passion I have for it and satisfied customers. Without them, I wouldn’t have gotten as far as I am today. I think what sets me apart from others is the energy I bring of excitement to see the finished project of what was envisioned. I love to see what two minds create when they come together.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like all the love and support that I’ve been receiving from those around me. I definitely love and appreciate that from you all. And I have no dislikes. Good or bad, it all makes me want to work harder.
