Today we’d like to introduce you to Eristheo Raif
Hi Eristheo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Eristheo and I am a behavioral interventionist/paraprofessional who works in the special needs department. and an assistant basketball coach at Eagle rock high school. Before working at Eagle rock high school, i spent about 8 years working with youths and teenagers. Eventually landing a job as a behavioral interventionist that deals with students who are on the spectrum. I am currently in my 10th year working with students who are on the spectrum.
I am also a part time photographer. I started Photography over the pandemic. Being stuck at home for the most part, I wanted to explore more on my creative side.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At the beginning, it was definitely a struggle. Learning new ways to accommodate to one’s needs was really challenging. The adjustments for each student you work with was also hard. But a learning lesson. Knowing how to navigate different behaviors has its benefits.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a paraprofessional for LAUSD. I work with the special needs students in Eagle Rock High school. Students that have Autism, Down syndrome and other students that deals with daily challenges . I specialize in ABA( Applied behavior Analysis) what I am most proud of believing in every individual I have worked with. Knowing that I have made an impact in someone’s life will always be something I will be proud of. I think what sets me apart from everyone is the believing in the students that they can be the best version of themselves. Allowing them to be who they are without judging them and being able to teach them new ways to control their emotions. I am always rooting for them no matter what the circumstances are.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was coming to LA with my brothers and sister reuniting with my parents.
