Meet Emre Orun

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emre Orun.

Emre, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When people hear what I do β€œActor, Model and Professional Fighter, they say “how in the world!” πŸ™‚ . Yes, I am an actor taking private and group acting classes, keep participating projects as lead and supporting character, a Model doing print and runway and a professional fighter practicing martial arts, training full time and fighting in cage or ring.

My martial arts training helps me be my own stunt. I was born in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey, December 13th, 1989, and moved to United States of America in November 2010. I grew up in Istanbul, went to Highschool there and went another city to get bachelors degree in Business Administration. When I was about 18-19, I started practicing martial arts from former world champions and competing internationally.

To this day I’ve had belts, first, second and third places, many awards, trophies, etc. I still train, fight, and teach martial arts. Back in 2011, I joined an acting school in Jacksonville, FL and started taking private and group classes which helped me improving my acting skills, meeting people and started finding speaking role casting calls, and ever since I’ve been busy with traveling, TV/Film, commercial acting also print/runway modeling.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing has ever been smooth and easy so far. Moving to America was a challenge for me and my family. We blended in time but there was always an obstacle to face. I train all the time and challenge myself to be better and when I fight, it’s a whole different challenge for both me and my opponents. As an actor auditioning for roles is always a challenge. You do all you can and leave it in the hands of casting directors or let’s say β€œhope or luck” cause you never know what they’re looking into. After all the adversity/conflict I’ve faced I’ve had the triumphed.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
As an actor projects, I’ve participated and awards I’ve won, and as a fighter fighting internationally and successes I’ve had are the most I’m proud of. Hard work and dedication that I have on acting and martial arts really set me apart from others. Both these professions, along with modeling, require too much already and I spend countless hours on acting classes, learning on set, martial arts training, traveling and all these professions requirements. Knowing that my clients know how to protect themselves, learning self-defense from me is also priceless. Doing what I love is a life I want to live.

What were you like growing up?
As most kids, I was a friendly and hyper one but as I grew up that hyper part of me became calm… Ever since I was a child, I’ve always dreamed of myself as an actor. I always loved watching films and dreaming or seeing myself in them instead of a character in it and really feel like I was a part of the story I was watching. I have a huge movie collection, when I was a kid I was literally spending all my pocket money to buy Movies and It hasn’t changed, still expanding my Movie collection. My father is a former taekwondo champion and I was always into martial arts even when I was little, later it became my lifestyle.
