Hi Emilio Jose, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, I started in the world of tattooing by chance, a friend insisted that I had to dedicate myself to making tattoos and after studying fine arts I thought it was a good idea.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The truth is that it was quite hard to start, until you start to master the technique you like, you get a good portfolio of clients that allow you to live from your work and you learn the most important details of the profession.
However, it is a very nice profession and one of the last in which you can become a good tattoo artisan.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am dedicated to the world of tattooing, I specialize in anime/manga and cartoons.
My style is characterized by using solid blacks and soft overlays combined with fine and very precise line strokes.
I love geek culture and that’s why I love tattooing this kind of motifs.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think my sector has undergone a great expansion in the past 5 years, right now I think it is a very trendy sector and in the next 5 years I think the growth will be slower and more stable, everyone is getting tattooed now and people are normalizing it a lot. I am happy for that
