Today we’d like to introduce you to Elise Carver.
Hi Elise, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been a lifelong musician with a nagging inner dissatisfaction, for my whole career. Ha! Being a musician my whole life seemed like one of those situations where I should have been more fulfilled than I was, yet, I continued searching for more meaning in my career. I had taught private lessons for close to 18 years, been in more rock bands than I could count, all stemming from a background in classical voice, but it never felt like it was what I was put on earth to do. Back in 2022, when I was involved in the early days of mothering my infant daughter, I realized that I wanted to help more people through my music, which led me to writing spiritual music. I wanted to create more than just the love songs that I had written up until that point. Writing spiritual music was like a lightning bolt to the soul, and thus, I became a New Thought and Posi artist, writing music that speaks my spiritual message to the world. But, there was still this feeling of “not quite right.” On a vacation, quite by happenstance, I brought a deck of Tarot cards with me as I was curious about possibly learning the system, and, pulling cards for myself on one beautiful afternoon in Cape Cod changed the trajectory of what I wanted to do with my life. The brutal honesty of the cards was like asking a sister for life advice – truth, and absolutely no sugar coating! I became obsessed with Tarot, and began to read for myself and others quite quickly, helping to transform my life, and the lives of others. Around the same time, I discovered kundalini activation, a spiritual and healing modality where a facilitator allows a client to tap into their life force energy with such power and grace that a person can truly experience the Divine Intelligence at a level that changes their life forever. I quickly became a certified facilitator of this modality, and through the special combination of passions that I had recently discovered, I have finally found the complete trifecta of what my purpose is in this world and how I can now help clients in the way I have always wanted to. I wish to help them access the clarity and the direction that I have been able to, through these spiritual modalities – Music that inspires. Tarot to reveal the way. Kundalini activation to open your eyes.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The music scene in Los Angeles is extremely competitive and tough. You can get completely lost in it. I struggled in a big way trying to navigate the lack of connections, the endless “bar gigs” for little pay (if any!). I remember after weeks and weeks of rehearsing, and several gigs of no-pay, one of the early bands I was in celebrated our pay at the end of the gig by buying ONE pint of beer and sharing it. We had made a total of about $9. It is so easy to get lost in this aspect of the music business out here – pay to play and never fully evolving past that creatively. I was always so disheartened at the incredible amount of talent that had never made it, and was eeking out a living. Folks that could rival the best of the best that were playing in dusty, musty bars forever. I always felt like there was something more, but then I would get lost in the world of teaching private lessons, for many years. Although the kiddos were lovely, 9 times out of 10, they were forced to take lessons and thus the lessons were neither productive, nor enjoyable for a lot of them. So, my search for meaning in my career really became extremely important. “How can I make more of an impact and how can I help people, in ways that speak to me and truly make a difference?” became the question gnawing at my heart 24/7.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I offer Tarot readings to clients – helping them through life transitions through the clarity of Spirit, as prescribed through the archetypal energies of the Tarot. I also offer kundalini activation – an incredible modality where a person goes on a musical journey (lying down on a yoga mat) and I help them access their kundalini energy – their life force energy. This allows them to receive messages from the Divine, realizations that they may never had understood or reached on their own. Additionally, I write and perform Spiritual music, and am currently the Lead Musician at the Redondo Beach Center for Spiritual Living. I love inspiring people on a weekly basis through music that touches their hearts and rejuvenates them with a sense of power and confidence!
One of the current workshops/performances I offer is “A Musical Journey through the Major Arcana” – an evening of meditation, dance, and a musical journey through the archetypes of the major arcana of the Tarot – which allows one to receive a message from Spirit and energetically see it thought to completion, propelling inspiration and setting a life change in motion.
I love to help clients transform their lives through a combination of all of what I offer – Kundalini Activation and Tarot to receive guidance from Spirit and special curated music and meditations so that they can continue to access this energy and inspiration in the days and months to come, while making those life changes. Life transformation is what I am helping people achieve, and I believe that the combination of these modalities makes for a profound experience for those seeking to make big changes in their lives.
What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Tucson Arizona and was a bubbly, excitable, frizzy haired, hippo-toothed youngster, who loved to make people laugh and was really good at the violin and piano! As a kiddo, I was one of those children that was thrilled with the idea that quite possibly, magic could be real. And that if I look at the flowers in just the right light, I might see a fairy. 🙂 I was a bookworm who also imagined wild worlds beyond reality daily after school, dressing up in costumes for many years past my peers. I was also musically gifted, and in my household, music practice came before doing homework. I played the piano, violin and drums, and took up classical voice in high school. Between all the music, and my enjoyment of tap dancing, I was a busy kid, enjoying life to the fullest, and accompanied by a game and vibrant little brother.
