Today we’d like to introduce you to Dmorea Walker.
Dmorea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started photography in the fall of 2014 Senior Year of HS. The idea originally came from me just wanted higher quality pictures for my Instagram because back then the iPhone camera wasn’t all that great. The first camera I got was a Nikon and after shooting my friends and family with that for a few weeks, I ended up selling it to get a new camera which was the canon T5. I fell in love with that camera and also just photography in general. I love capturing people and memorable moments. During high school, I would take all of our pictures for our yearbook and was just known at that point as the dude with the camera lol. After high school, I joined the army and still would book photoshoots in my free time. Just only recently, October 2019 I discovered film photography and just like I do with everything I do a ton of research and watching YouTube videos on it and after purchasing my first film camera, I knew that this would be something I would get into fast, which I did. I am now out of the army after completing a four years contract back at home in south central LA and now pursuing my goal into becoming a full-time content creator and photographer.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been smooth there have been times where I try to find what I want to do with photography or finding my own style of photography.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I specialize in portrait photography this is what I’m known for and as far as being proud, I’m very proud of how far I came and how consistent I am.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I wouldn’t say luck but I definitely have been blessed with just watching and taking in the knowledge from other creators.
