Today we’d like to introduce you to Deniz Ahmadinia
Hi Deniz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Absolutely. My journey into this work is both professional and deeply personal. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist, a trauma survivor, and a mother of two boys, ages 5 and 7.
When I first pursued psychology, I was drawn to understanding generational trauma and family dysfunction, but I had little awareness of my own childhood trauma. I recognized the unhealthy patterns in my family, but I hadn’t yet connected them to my own survival responses & lived experience.
For years, I was disconnected from my own healing work, studying trauma and helping others navigate through their own experiences. But it wasn’t until. began my own journey that I came to understand that healing is so much more than knowing intellectually—it’s about unlearning survival patterns, reconnecting with the body, and reparenting the parts of ourselves that never got what they needed.
Today, I focus on education, community-building, and helping people break generational cycles in a way that is accessible, trauma-informed, and empowering. My mission is to help others feel seen, validated, and equipped with the tools to heal—so they can step into their fullest, most authentic selves.
Working with survivors of various types of trauma, particularly childhood trauma, I saw firsthand how early experiences shape self-worth, relationships, and emotional regulation. But I also noticed a gap in traditional therapy—many people needed structured, accessible support outside of weekly sessions. That’s what led me to create Heal the Inner Child, a live group program designed to help people reparent themselves, regulate their nervous system, and heal the wounds they’ve carried from childhood. As my work expanded, I launched Cycle Breaker Collective, a briefer program for people actively working through healing family dysfunction, reclaiming self-trust, and setting boundaries. The intention behind these offerings is not just to provide a roadmap for accessible healing, but also to remind each of us that while our individual work is incredibly important, so is our community support. We get wounded in relationships, whether in childhood or adulthood, and we can heal in relationships.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road—both personally and professionally.
When I first entered the field, I had little to no awareness of my own childhood trauma. I recognized the generational wounds in my parents and saw the dysfunction in my family, but I had completely disconnected from my own experiences. It wasn’t until years later, after deepening my personal work and reconnecting with my body, that I was able to access repressed childhood sexual abuse.
That realization was both painful and transformative. It forced me to confront parts of myself I had long buried, while still holding space for others in their healing journeys. Balancing my personal healing with my work as a psychologist, as well as a wife and mother, was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. In many ways, Heal the Inner Child was born out of my own healing process. I wanted to create something that could help others navigate self-reconnection, nervous system regulation, and reparenting in a structured yet self-paced way.
Another major struggle was unlearning the fear of being seen. Growing up in an environment where you learn that it is safer to be small and quiet, you internalize the belief that taking up space, speaking out, or being vulnerable is dangerous. So when my social media platform started growing and my work gained visibility, it was both exciting and deeply uncomfortable. I have had to actively work through the fear of visibility—reminding myself that my voice matters and that my work could help others who had been silenced for too long. I have had to actively embody all the skills and practices I teach and I am a more skilled and humanized psychologist for it.
From a business perspective, stepping outside of traditional therapy and building something new—Heal the Inner Child, Cycle Breaker Collective, and my masterclasses—required trust in myself, resilience, and a completely different mindset. Traditional therapy has clear structures, but creating a trauma-informed space for self-guided healing and community required innovation and adaptability.
Despite these struggles, I wouldn’t trade this path for anything. Every challenge I’ve faced has deepened my understanding of healing, strengthened my purpose, and helped me create offerings that meet people where they are—whether they’re at the start of their journey or deep in the work of breaking generational cycles.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in trauma, inner child healing, and helping people break free from dysfunctional family patterns. My work goes beyond traditional therapy by providing accessible, structured healing programs that people can engage with at their own pace, whether they’re just beginning their journey or looking for deeper integration.
In addition to my online programs, I run a private practice where I work with adult individuals using a combination of evidence-based therapies, mindfulness-based approaches, and somatic modalities to support healing at the level of both mind and body. My clinical training as a VA clinician at Sepulveda VA and West Los Angeles VA gave me a strong foundation in treating trauma, particularly the effects of PTSD and nervous system dysregulation. That experience has shaped my approach to healing—seeing the whole person, not just their symptoms.

What I’m Most Proud of Brand-Wise:
I’m most proud of how trauma survivors feel seen through my work. I regularly hear from people who say they’ve never had words for their experiences until they found my content or went through my programs. That’s the impact that matters most to me—not just offering information, but helping people truly feel understood and supported, as this is the birthplace for transformation.
What I Want Readers to Know:
If you’ve struggled with feeling unseen, emotionally invalidated, or stuck in the same survival patterns—you are not broken. The patterns you carry were once brilliant ways younger you survived, and healing isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about learning new ways to connect, regulate, and reclaim your authentic self.
Whether through Heal the Inner Child, Cycle Breaker Collective, my private practice, or my masterclasses, I offer spaces that meet people where they are. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Morning Routine for My Own Healing & Grounding
After dropping off my kids at school, I intentionally mix up my mornings throughout the week to support my mind, body, and energy. Some days are more movement-focused, others are for reflection and deeper healing. I alternate between:
Movement (yoga, walking, or dance for embodiment)
Journaling (for processing emotions, clarity, and self-connection)
Sound & Energy Healing (panda drum, sound bowls, Reiki)
Therapy (because healing is ongoing, and I do the work alongside the people I support)
For me, healing isn’t just something I teach—it’s something I live. Having these structured and flexible tools in place helps me stay grounded, present, and able to show up fully for my family, clients, and community.
