Today we’d like to introduce you to DaSha Taylor.
Hi DaSha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been creative since I was a child, but due to bullying at a young age, I never had the confidence to show the world what I was capable of. As the years went by, my shell started to slowly crack. First, I felt comfortable performing at Open Mics, and then it trickled down to me modeling at runway shows and for music videos. Now, my creative talents control my life in the best way possible. I’ve found so much joy by following my purpose and flowing through the path God has set out for me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like I mentioned prior, bullying was a huge problem for me. It affected my self-confidence in ways I couldn’t look in the mirror without crying. That mentality had to change within myself because all it brought me was pain. Poetry was a great outlet for me to truly let how I was feeling inside out, while modeling was a great medium to help me see the beauty I’ve always had. It’s been a struggle, but my inner child would be proud of who I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Some people know me as a poet. I perform at open mics. Im also an astrologer as well, I do reading for birthchart and synastry readings. I’m mainly known as a model. I do a lot of the Creative directing for the majority of my shoots. I’ve always had a great artistic eye, and modeling helps me express that in numerous ways. I do the majority of my styling, hair, and Makeup because I don’t really trust anyone else to do it. Nobody can bring my vision into reality better than I can. I believe that is what sets me apart from others. I’m always inspired by myself and my creative visions that no one else has thought of.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always been a complex person, but honestly who hasn’t. I was a really shy kid around anyone who didn’t make me feel comfortable, but once I found my tribe I was a silly kid. Honestly, I’m still silly to this day. I started my obsession with anime as a child, and I know that definitely had a large impact on my personality. I also played video games on a regular basis.
