Today we’d like to introduce you to KiddMuzic
Hi KiddMuzic, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started writing songs with my sister in 1995, and we would perform them to each other and go on to debate whose was better. Eventually, we started to do it so much as a regular thing. We felt like we were good at it. Then, we started to do it randomly for family. I fell in love with composing music. In 1996, I jumped into creating my own beats. Long story short, (from 2000 to present) I’ve traveled, produced, mixed, and mastered so much music over the years, I wanted to add to the picture I’ve painted of myself. In 2017, I created a platform called “THE STU,” a long side my best friend since 1989 Terrell
aka SIFU (the Dj and Co-Host) which is a source for the underground. Artists, entrepreneurs, new business owners, musicians, you name it, could come to the platform and promote and get your music aired LIVE. It’s like POWER 106, 92.3, KDAY, a talk show, etc. All in one stop.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We all have ups and downs and that’s just part of the game. THE STU launched in 2017 and was going strong. In Oct. of 2019, wasn’t so smooth. I had to deal with some personal issues with people and tough times with family, and I mean extremely tough. The guys that was a part of the show was also dealing with things and so we took a break, a 3 year break but relaunched in 2023 and still going strong.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a music producer overall and I just figured out my niche to incorporate into everything I put my hands on. Write, Mix, engineer, master and just about anything you have to do to create music, I’m him. Being a radio host has no age limit and I love to hear all the skill and talent that’s out there. So THE STU allows me to do that. I’m known to be a one man band when it comes to doing just about anything. I’m proud to say I’ve made it this far and remain grounded. The one main thing that sets me apart from others is that I don’t think im better than the next in no forum. I’m just me and I’m good with that.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve taken risks just like everyone else. Put all money in buying equipment, traveling, being down to my last dime. But I know what I used it for and I was good with that. In some cases, those are some of the risks we take to get it going and trying out things even if it’s not it. In that case, hit the drawing board again and try something else.
