Meet Daniel Barrett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Barrett.

Dr. Barrett grew up in a small town in Virginia, Warrenton. He was the youngest in his family and was always good at math and science. Unfortunately, he experienced the loss of his father to lung cancer as a young adolescent. This traumatic experience gave him the desire to explore a career in Medicine. He wanted to help others in these situations and wanted to better understand the field of medicine. It was this hardship early on in life that really motivated him on this path to becoming a Dr. Once Dr. Barrett realized it was very challenging to care for the sick, he focused his attention on Plastic Surgery. He loved working with his hands and building things, he has always been a creator. He always had an eye for perfection. He worked really hard in Medical school and matched in his Plastic Surgery Residency program at USC. One of the top programs in the nation. This brought him out to Los Angeles where he fell in love. He loved the amazing weather and opportunities for outdoor activities and gardening. Just after residency, he started his private practice in Beverly Hills, this is where he is today!

Has it been a smooth road?
This has certainly not been an easy road. Dr. Barrett experienced financial struggles since the loss of his father and accrued mass amounts of student loans on every step of his journey. He initially didn’t get into medical school and took a year studying physiology to test higher and make it happen. He wasn’t sure if he’d match into a good program that would make all of his struggles worthwhile. He accrued thousands of dollars of credit card debt to travel and interview for different programs. The cards were definitely stacked against him but he had higher hopes and was willing to risk everything to achieve his goals. These struggles early on gave him an amazing outlook. He stayed positive and always thankful. Also, when you don’t have anything, you really have nothing to lose.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Barrett Plastic Surgery story. Tell us more about the business.

We have experienced tremendous growth in a very short amount of time. The core values of our practice have helped us grow steadily. Patient care is number one. We focus on delivering the best for our patients. That means going above and beyond at every step to ensure their expectations are met and their care is number one.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Plastic Surgery is ever-changing! New technology and techniques are always coming out! I think we are working towards delivering the same beautiful results but with less downtime, fewer incisions and in a more natural way. We’ve seen a huge rise in Fat Transfer to the Breasts for example. This is a more natural way to deliver an augmented result. We use our patients OWN FAT instead of traditional implants.
