Today we’d like to introduce you to Cordell Miranda.
Cordell, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in San Jose Ca in a biracial household. My dad is African American and my mother is Mexican American. I grew up around my three brothers that were in a hip hop group called OCC (Organized Crime Circuit AKA One Common Cause) founded by Mark D my cousin. In 1999 they performed with E40, Master Steele, Andre Nickatina, and N2Deep at the New Years Eve bash.
Influenced by there hard work really rubbed off on me at a young age. Didn’t take it serious until one day in high school, I joined in on a cypher and surprised everyone including myself I then knew I had a gift with words. It was like a puzzle to me a challenge if you would of where to put each word and how to express myself musically. Having my first child as a teen really took my focus off the music and on to being the best dad I could be. Having three more children along the way and loosing one changed my whole life. Being married at a young age and losing my last born son really gave me an insight on how to be strong for my family and carry on. Music has always been my outlet to express my feelings and now that my kids are older, I can focus once again on bringing my dreams to reality.
Has it been a smooth road?
Having kids at a young age and dealing with the loss of a child made the road a bit rough. As well as dealing with adversity having biracial parents.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I go by the name of 4evacstylez and am known for my lyrics, content, and volunteer work I do around San Juan Unified school district. I also can draw virtually anything I put my mind to. I have a photographic memory and some may say I have another talent aside from writing vivid lyrics.
