Meet Christina Faith of The Grindhouse Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Faith.

Hi Christina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The influence of film and media has been a constant thread throughout my entire life. From a young age, I was deeply immersed in the culture—watching award shows and movies, and even having my grandmother tape everything on cable for me. My mother also used films, like “The Miseducation of Sunny Carson,” as tools to teach me about the effects of negative actions and peer pressure. Moving around frequently as a child, film, music, and culture became the one that that was constant I could always turn to.
The practical connection started very early. Around the age of six, I remember my grandfather taking me to Radio Shack to purchase his first video camera. Though it was nearly the size of my small body, he would let me run around and shoot with it at family gatherings. It was movies like “JoJo Dancer” that helped me understand my father who died of an overdose when I was nine years old.
This creative desire resurfaced strongly in college. I picked up a camera again to document my college life I was running student organizations, promoting parties, and hosting a radio show. I used my photography and video skills for promotional content, combining my passion for media with my organizational roles.
After college, I initially pursued my other love: music. I opened a studio and even started a music label. However, the true turning point came around 2006. Someone observed me with my photo camera and, recognizing a deeper potential, simply said, “I see you with a camera…a video camera”.
Embracing that vision, I went out and purchased a Canon XH-A1 fully suited out from eBay. I shifted my focus from the music industry to learning the craft of filmmaking. I taught myself Final Cut Pro, shot my first music video, and from that moment on, I knew I had found another piece to my journey. It was a wrap from there.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My career in filmmaking began with a baptism by fire—I remember almost getting robbed shooting my first music video on Diamond Street in Philadelphia. It taught me early that the path would not be smooth, and that the single most important skill is the ability to pivot. On any given set, something will go wrong; that’s the rule, not the exception.

I deliberately chose a difficult road: demanding ownership and creative control over immediately joining the studio system. My core desire has always been to build, create, and own—not just to be hired as a director or producer.

This independent mindset served me well when I directed my first studio film. I recognized business-side inefficiencies the studio missed because I had worked within tight budgets. Initially, they only saw me as a director (the creative). My trials, however, had given me the answers I needed: I advocated for and earned a producer title on the project.

This necessity became the foundation for The Grindhouse Inc., a full-service production house and agency. I’ve personally filled every role on a set, giving me an unparalleled understanding of what is needed from start to finish. This holistic knowledge ensures our partnerships are seamless, efficient, and timely. I don’t see a lack of budget as a wall; I see it as a chance to innovate, flex different creative muscles, and ultimately get the job done. My challenges aren’t obstacles—they are answers to problems I’ve been trying to solve.
