Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Barrios.
Karen was born and raised in our lovely Los Angeles. She was inspired by her mentor to enter the beauty industry. After high school, she went straight into beauty school graduated in 2011. Since then she has been working in a hair salon and freelancing in make-up. She has worked many special occasions such as weddings, sweet 16, special events, on set such as photo shoots, music videos and small films.
“Coming from a low income family when only my father worked it was very difficult. Being the second oldest to a family of 6 kids wasn’t easy. Financially there wasn’t enough money, so in order for me to continue my education I started working at 16. There were many difficult moments where I wanted to quit but I never gave up kept working to strive to the top and make my family proud.”
We’re proud of her as well – she’s an incredible example of the creative talent in LA. Her work, her attitude and her commitment to keep going is beyond inspiring.
