Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Catrice.
Brianna, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA to a single mother. My grandparents had a huge part of my upbringing. Growing up I never had big dreams. I even scoffed at people for having “unrealistic goals”. If I could peek into the future and see myself now I would be very surprised. Right out of high school I got my cosmetology license and began working as a hair and makeup artist. My story is unique… I started to aspire for more when I discovered the prophetic. I’m a Christian and around the age of 21, I attended a small church in Sunland, CA where I first met a prophetess… I have to say I was skeptical at first… I sat in the very back just as an observer… I was shocked when I was the first person she called on to give a word… She told me that she saw motion picture lights and that I was called to the entertainment industry. This was extremely random to me and I told God that if this is true He would be the one to make it happen.
Shortly after I got that word; I was introduced to a talent agent through one of my hair clients. Coincidence? I think not.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Patience + faith really is key. If you have a strong conviction or goal stick to it. Especially if you feel that it’s backed by God!
That is a huge part of what has kept me going. Through that endurance, you will be amazed at the doors that will open up by just staying consistent… You have to know who you are & what your why is and others will catch up. There will always be naysayers. I used to be one of them! Instant success doesn’t exist…
The times where I felt like giving up God always sent someone to give me encouragement… whether it was another prophetic word or even just a stranger asking me if I was an actress!
I have to say that I am extremely grateful for every trial and frustration because it has only made me a better person and sharpened my character. Through your struggles, you learn humility which is so important in this industry…
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a singer, songwriter, actress & model. The majority of my work has been print modeling/commercial acting thus far.
I’ve gotten to work with brands like Spotify, Sephora, Orbit gum and much more! I’ve had the pleasure of working with celebrities such as Demi Lovato, Steve Harvey & Zayn Malik.
Music is a huge part of who I am and I’m extremely excited about some of the things that are in the works. As a solo artist stay tuned for a single by Ty Brasel feat. myself and Lecrea. (if you don’t know who they are ~LOOK THEM UP FAM~) Look out for it around the top of 2020. Additionally, I recently started a duo that is soon to come out consisting myself and Mike Dupree a multi-platinum music producer. We call ourselves No Coincidence.
God has truly been good and I know that this is just the beginning. The best is yet to come.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
“My career path has been nothing short of supernatural. I wouldn’t call it luck. I’m a believer that everything happens for a reason and that there’s always a deeper purpose to every situation or opportunity that presents itself good or bad.“
