Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandonn St. Regis.
Hi Brandonn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started out in Atlanta, just a kid who took fashion way too seriously and somehow made it make sense. Before I ever styled anyone famous, I was a personal shopper helping people find themselves and their style through clothes. It taught me that style isn’t just what you wear, it’s how you carry your life.
When I moved to New York 7 years ago, I worked in corporate fashion with J.Crew, Madewell, and Richemont. I like to say those years taught me structure, patience, and how to keep my cool under pressure. It gave me discipline, but it also made me realize I belonged on the creative side of the chaos.
Once I went full-time freelance, everything shifted. Some of my clients are public, others are completely private, which I love because it keeps me balanced. My path has never been traditional (my first ever clients in atl were strippers and reality stars) , but it’s been honest, it’s been real, and it’s definitely been transformative.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road. I’ve learned that in this industry, people expect you to play the game and I’ve never been good at that to be 100 with you. I don’t kiss ass, I don’t chase rooms, and I don’t move or work out of desperation. That’s probably made my path a little slower at times, but it’s also kept it authentic to me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At the core, my work is about making people feel like the best version of themselves. I make women of all sizes look expensive because confidence is EVERYTHING. I love taking someone’s personal style and just turning the volume up a little. It’s never about making them dress like me, it’s about helping them see themselves differently.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships I build with my clients. Styling is personal. You’re in someone’s world, their home, their insecurities & how they feel is half the outfit. So when someone fully trusts me, that means more than any credit or tag.
What sets me apart is that I’ll never follow a trend or let my clients feel like they’re competing with anyone else. I’m big on individuality. The goal is always to have them walk into a room and feel like nobody can touch their energy
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My very first client was Kim Zolciak, which was a wild way to start because The Real Housewives of Atlanta was huge at the time. She didn’t exactly elevate my career or ever pay me (not once) but she did give me my first shot on television, and for that, I’ll always be grateful. That experience taught me how to make something out of nothing, which I’ve been doing ever since.
But truthfully, the people who deserve the most credit are my friends and my mother. My mom has always believed there was nothing I couldn’t do. She’s been my loudest cheerleader and biggest fan, and I light up when she tells me she’s proud of what I’m doing.
And then there are people like André Leon Talley, who I’ve studied for years. He’s the godfather of fashion in my eyes. The definition of elegance, knowledge, and authority. I’ve always admired how he commanded space just by being himself. That’s the kind of impact I hope to have.
