Meet Brandon, Bryan and Brett DeLaura of Holiday State

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon, Bryan, and Brett DeLaura.

Holiday State is a country music group formed in 2014 and consists of brothers Brandon, Brett and Bryan from Orange County, California. Raised in a home that encouraged creativity and where a constant musical influence was provided, the brothers showed a passion for music at a young age. Possessing both a captivating look and an engaging sound, this impressive group of brothers has performed at numerous venues throughout Southern California, a high school/college tour in 2016 and as a supporting act on a 2017 National Tour. Also in 2017, the group was the honored guest judges and featured performers at the “Music Changing Lives” showcase in Riverside, CA.

The group was intensely shaken after the horrific event that occurred at the Route 91 concert on Oct. 1st, 2017 in Las Vegas where Brett was not only in attendance and heard bullets ricocheting off the fence beside him, but standing within mere feet of victims who had been fatally shot. Fortunately, he survived the incident with only minor cuts and bruises, but it left behind an indelible mark that any life can be taken at any moment. As a result, the group is thankful for blessings received and the importance of making the most meaningful and purposeful music as possible, both melodically and lyrically. In early 2018, Holiday State flew to Nashville to record an EP with Andy Sheridan, producer and founder of Charlie Horse Productions and musical director for Hunter Hayes. Holiday State looks forward to continuing to bring their talent to the music industry with the goal of entertaining music lovers all over the world.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Far from it. There’s definitely been a lot of peaks and valleys throughout our career. In this industry, there’s a lot of people who are out to get your money. Over the years we’ve been taken advantage of, but we’ve learned to be more selective with the people and the opportunities that are presented to us.

Please tell us about Holiday State.
We’re a country music group of 3 brothers. We sing, write, play, produce, and perform all original music. We’re most proud of all of the new music we’re creating and the relationships we’ve built along the way. What sets us apart from others is our sound and our mixed heritage. Being from Orange County, you don’t come across a lot of country artists from the West Coast.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We wouldn’t have jumped on every opportunity that came our way. When you first start, you’re excited and eager and don’t want to miss out on anything, so you sometimes end up working with people that don’t have your best interest in mind.
