Today, we’d like to introduce you to Blair Shalea. Blair was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Kyza Williamson.
Blair, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
I lean verbose (a.k.a. the literary form of gift of gab, with quill & ink. I’ll do my best to focus on the landmark events we shared, including the woe I met her in all the way to the glow I feel and have because of Kyza today. How I got here: To be blunt, and not the cute edgy bob-type haircut, but to the point: all my hair fell out. The last time I wore “short hair” (slightly above the shoulders), was 8th grade. I’m 40ish now. So long and blonde has been my lewk forever. The blonder the better my mantra which charted the course for my color for the next decade or few…
Pre-Kyza & Hairpocalypse 2020
We’ll keep my former hairdresser anonymous, “llionalism, the gigantic suitcases of product and reinforcements, that she knew what had happened to my hair, and how to fix it, that she didn’t say what I wanted to hear which is, you’ll have long thick, blonde hair after we’re done today And that she gave me honest feedback, letting me know that it would be a journey but if I followed all of her steps, I’d never look better. I liked that last part, but with what I was dealing with anything would look better at this point. More than that it was, the confidence she brought that she knew she could help me and I believed her she said that I couldn’t just go straight to bleach or blonde. It would be steps there was a boot camp and it was taken so seriously that I felt heard. We have attachments to Hair which I’d say is most men and women Today have great effects mentally when something goes wrong from a bad haircut, bad color or the worst hair loss. Hair from most people is their identity. It makes them feel feminine or even when a woman transitions a different look can help enhance a masculine side they want to bring out. I want to make sure I don’t come across as magnifying the importance of hair as most. All of us are richly blessed and here is so small on the spectrum of real life problems. But for the sake of this topic, we can acknowledge that it is a big deal for our self-esteem, her identity character And help to enhance our gender associations.
Born, female, identify as female, my hair has always been part of making me feel like a woman—without it I don’t have many other features of my own that would distinguish otherwise silly enough to say. Years ago around 14 I had a horrific “boyish haircut”, was flat chested, athletic build and felt hideous. Not even an attractive boy! Dishwater blonde hair too. Not a Kyza blonde pixie to ameliorate while growing!
Back to our first meet:
After our first meeting I knew without a shadow of doubt after several helpless months, that I was in the best most capable hands in the country. Kyza spoke directly and honestly to me, and that integrity allowed for immediate trust and blind faith. She didn’t give lip service or tell me what I “wanted to hear”. My hair wasn’t going to be long thick platinum Barbie blonde after one sitting in her hair. But, if I promised to commit to her program and follow her routine, Kyza would be able to reverse the damage done and restore and revive my hair. Kyza asked that I send her my hair routine. I make a 20 page ppt presentation and it was another sign that I met my blonde superhero, branded cape and all. Page by page she explained what I had been doing incorrectly what I could be doing better pinpointing what emphasized, trauma, and what I should be using to get my hair back to healing and growing. The blonde boot camp was filled with her trade secrets from what brushes to use what product – – I thought you should just put a bunch of conditioning masks and pray for the best but oh no, there is a wonderful and curious magic between the chemistry of every little detail you put on your hair you use to tie back the heat level and strength of styling products, etc. etc. Mind officially blown. If only her wisdom and power could save such bad hair happening to good people all around the country, it would be a joy for women and men in perpetuity. I believe she should capitalize on her program and partner with one or two products lines (kyza is brand loyal to just a few lines she stands by— without sponsorship). These brands are missing out though— any influencer can caress a bottle with their perfectly manicured fingers telling the public they swear by Brand XYZ but what’s missing is Kyza who is the X factor; real deal in salon using various combinations of your product daily over the course of multiple sessions and has the power of proof of change: an audience can witness the transformation IRT. Kyza’s knowledge of product, chemistry and usage, brands or consumers can think to just can what she uses, but not knowing how, when or what you’re doing wrong or right is her ex factor- the Kyza Method & formula.
I don’t want to reveal her trade self-made secrets, but after sharing every detail of my hair routine prior to our meet, Kyza was able to instantly annotate what to change/adapt/switch and more. I soaked up every morsel of wisdom like a sponge, hanging on every word eagerly listening as though I was in a 1:1 master class with Shakespeare. From the beginning Kyza always explained exactly what, why or how she planned on doing, asked questions and allowed for me to do the same, provided options while also informing me of the outcomes to make sure our goals and expectations were always aligned.
Over time with each visit my admiration
For Kyza and her craft grew as I watched know Kyza to truly be a genius in her craft- an art.
She’s a chemist, a master in color theory and art, an expert in molecular science, knowing how to identify the root (pun intended) of the problem and then create a path to solve it.
I know now that not only was Kyza truly my only hope, she was everything I desperately yearned for: direction, timeline, and realistic expectations so were aligned and not disappointed when certain wants aren’t met immediately (although most colorists aren’t upfront and dishonest. This approach from Kyza provided actual hope though, not the false hope all the others I reached out to shamelessly would say “come on by, I’ll get you back to Marilyn in a blink honey.” As mentioned.
Kyza was and is Gifted in every way: her vision, craft, her knowledge of chemistry, color, tone, hair type, goals, communication style, providing realistic expectations with timelines, best/worst case scenarios,
Who doesn’t want to hear that they’ll be a blonde bombshell after one visit self included! But deep down, that’s
NOT what I wanted to hear; I wanted to know what happened, what I was doing wrong and what had to change to do my part and what we could do to turn things around.
If I agreed to follow her direction to the t, I vowed to give me her honest commitment and she hers.
She was my guardian Angel before knowing it. And years later, Kyza is so much more than that. .
Although I know Kyza was sent from above, I did know after our very first exchange was that she was overqualified and more than equipped to take on a (mental) case like me –– panicked, worried, desperate, and willing to do anything, and everything it would take to have hair again.
Kyza can’t just be defined as “colorist” or “stylist”. Genius, chemist, artist and visionary comes close but still inadequate in defining who, and what Kyza does as a hair repair, and BLONDE guru celebrity.
And if my words aren’t enough, there is actual physical proof within her, being and brain and eyes, that, without a doubt explain why she is more brilliant than the best salon stylist you’ll ever come across: kyza is Tetrachromat, tetrachromacy aka when a person is born a genetic abnormality — I call it another superpower in her eyes. Kyza has 4️⃣ cones of light three primary and then I can see four which is why tetra Linda been Quadra in some places yes but because you’re talking about the body etc. but like your quad muscle is like
S although Kyza unknowingly, provides a master class for every one of her clients
It’s hard to forget that, although her specialty (focus in blonde) and wheelhouse is color, correction, extensions and hair growth and styling – – let’s not forget that Kyza can give the most incredible award-winning haircuts, blow dries and styling at one could only dream of.
She is a genius in every aspect of hair, all colors, textures, damage, to an average client, Kyzas time and skill just on another planet, when focusing on BLONDE specifically.
The integrity of my hair has never been better in my decades long life and I attribute this to my one, and only fairy hairy God Dresser and closest friend and confidant as she is the most loyal and dedicated person. I know if anyone can take something from my testimony, let it be this: using Kaiser is a gift to yourself to others and once you see the difference, you will never imagine how bad your hair was before and how great it can look for the rest of your life.

Other: I have a PowerPoint from when I began with kyza. She asked me to explain every single detail of what I do with my hair from when I wake up to go to bed from washing brushes, tools, etc. I also have photos from when I started with Kyza today so about a couple hundred. Let me know if you need anything. I have never been speechless but the work Kyza does and the person in character and talent she brings with her craft is undeniable and unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I’ve traveled the world since I was a young girl and I’m a native Angelino , so I’ve basically seen it all and met every character. There is but Kyza is of the top three most special human beings. I know so please please give her the best fulfilling review article possible because known is more deserving than her.
