Meet Bejo Dohmen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bejo Dohmen.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bejo. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Since I am a child, I was interested in movies. I loved watching them and still do. I always thought I wanna be that person in the movies. But the little town I grew up had nothing to do with the movie business at all. I had to move! So I did. I moved to Cologne Germany and studied acting.

While in school, I already submitted myself for projects and started early to work in the industry. I graduated from acting school in 2010. Since then, I constantly worked for tv shows and movies in Germany. But there was still my biggest dream. Los Angeles. Working as an actor internationally was always my goal.

Plus, it was always my dream of going to Los Angeles. Not specifically because of the industry. No! Just because, I love LA. The very first time for me going on vacation to LA was in 2015. Already after the first days, I fell in love with the city. And the big BONUS in LA is the industry.

That combination made me come here to continue my international career. January 2018 was finally the day I moved to LA. The big bonus for me was definitely my german resume and experience in acting for a great start out here. I immediately found an agent and my very first job made me already SAG eligible.

The funny thing is, the moment I arrived in LA, I got sooo much work in Germany and had to fly back and forth ten times in 2018 for acting, which is incredibly awesome.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For sure when it comes to how to pay rent is the struggle sometimes. BUT the wonderful part is. With the right mindset, everything is possible, and you will always find a way. I always truly believed in myself, that I reach my goals, so I did.

Money is to be honest compared to how I enjoy my life a tiny issue sometimes. But not really important. Money definitely can make life easier, but I always lived my life the way I want, so there wasn´t any struggle at all.

Plus in my opinion. How can be something I love be tough? IT CAN´T! I have all the time in the world because acting is my life. I will do it until the moment I die. If I have to struggle, then it´s not the right life I chose.

What are you the most proud of?
I am the most proud of my parents because they taught me how to be strong and truly understand life and the way to think.

What sets you apart from others? 
mmhh… I can´t and I don’t like to compare myself to others, because I don´t have the rights to do so. I can only speak for myself. What always worked for me phenomenal is, that I truly believe, that EVERYTHING in life is possible. Giving up is a language I don´t speak. And I never could.

The life I chose is exactly what I want. I live for that, I die for that. That´s why I know, I will reach my goals. It´s only a matter of time. And I have all the time in the world.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Either for work or your life, this is what i truly believe is essential for success!!
