Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Schneider.
Becca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I guess I could trace my passion for creating pretty things back to when I was a little girl and would go to my grandma’s house. For holidays, she always had these elaborate fancy dinners with table scapes that awed.
I can remember back to when I was in my teens and I was the one getting others on board to throw surprise parties. As I got older it became, weddings, birthdays, showers.
People kept telling me, wow you put all this together, you should do this for a living. One day I decided why not try….
I took an online wedding and event planning course. Had someone help me create a logo and start up a website. I put out some post card flyers and adds on Craigslist, started a Yelp page.
Most of the business I get is word of mouth and that feels good. When a client I have worked with tells someone, “you have to use my planner”. I feel a sense of accomplishment that what I set out to do is actually happening!
My husband and I are a great team, I have the vision and he builds my crazy ideas ha and helps it all come to life. I work with my clients for months, I pour my heart into every detail, I have a true passion for this stuff and get so excited about all the details.
We have a team that comes in the day of and helps with all the set up, but we are right there with our hands on everything.
Has it been a smooth road?
We have been blessed. Luckily, my husband and I have put together a great team. So far it has been smooth sailing.
We have 5 kids, so our biggest obstacles are just playing swing shift to get things done.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Believe It wedding & Event Planning story. Tell us more about the business.
We do all types of Wedding and Event Planning, birthdays, showers, celebrations, all the way to setting up an elaborate engagement on the beach……
Known for my ability to seamlessly put together an amazing day for my clients, whatever the event. I guess I am so on top of all the details and it is just fun for me not work, so I am able to really help them ease their minds and take away the stress. My husband is great with wood working, so he builds beautiful props for a lot of our events.
Like I said, I have a passion for this stuff and seeing the vision all come together is so gratifying.
I’m not sure if it sets me apart from the rest, but I know I am really down to earth and easy to talk to/get along with, and I treat every event as if it’s my own, so I think I set my clients minds at ease. We push up our sleeves and get to work on creating their perfect day.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I just hope to get bigger and keep growing my business. I would love to do a big name event. I see stars on TV having these elaborate showers and parties and I’m always thinking, I could have done that.
