Meet Anthony Henderson of HenDawgz in Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Henderson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Anthony. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am from Toledo, Ohio and I attended Bowling Green State University on a full athletic scholarship to play basketball. I moved to Los Angeles about three years ago after completing my first professional basketball season in Toronto, Canada. I wasn’t sure what my plan was but I knew I wanted to move to LA and train/workout and get ready for wherever I decided to play basketball at next season. After living in LA for six months, I got a job with Second Spectrum. Within weeks of working for Second Spectrum, the company became the official tracking provider of the NBA and I had grew to be one of the two basketball specialists for the company.

I am still currently a basketball specialist for Second Spectrum while also still being able to showcase my skills and play basketball in shows on Hulu, HBO and on YouTube. I played basketball in the show “Love, Victor” on Hulu, “Showtime” on HBO, and “Dennis Rodman” by ASAP Ferg and Tyga starring Dennis Rodman that currently has 4 million views on YouTube. It’s safe to say Basketball is my life lol THANKS!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely hasn’t been all smooth. There were times where I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do but one thing I made sure of was no matter what I do, I will make sure I work hard at it and give it my all.

HenDawgz – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My YouTube page has been what I’m most proud of. Being creative in the sports world is something I’ve always wanted to do but when I was playing in college and professionally that seemed impossible to do. Now that I’ve stepped away from playing professionally, I’ve been able to create a platform for others through my YouTube page to be seen and heard on a wider scale than I ever had growing up. What sets my YouTube page apart from others is not only has it created so many opportunities for myself, it is also an amazing feeling to create a cool platform for entertainers, athletes, agents, etc. so that they can speak how they feel in a relaxed environment.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career would be working as Basketball Specialist for Second Spectrum. After playing basketball for the last 20 years of my life, working on the analytics side of basketball is a major accomplishment for me especially working so close with the NBA.
