Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander King.

Hi Alexander , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Not knowing why I was placed for adoption stays present in my heart and mind. Yet, a great gift came from this: a chance for a new life.
I hope this video helps other adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents and people who live with unresolved feelings around adoption embrace the fact that they are enough.
By healing my own emptiness I am able to release shame and allow true acceptance of my birth mother’s decision to connect and free both of us.
My birth mom’s greatest act of love was to let me go.

I will never know what it means to lay in a hospital bed, birth a child and leave the building empty-handed. This is me trying to understand––and choose––what adoption means to me.
Sometimes the repercussions of our actions take lifetimes to process and understand.
This music video in development is an offering—to remind others they are not alone and to give voice to the question so many carry quietly: “Why wasn’t i good enough?”

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As we are in the middle of the pre-production for REPERCUSSIONS and this journey funding has definitely been the hardest part. Getting others inspired to help and support, however, it’s gotten us connected with some pretty amazing people and is bringing together a community of people which has been really special to see and be part of.

We’ve been impressed with REPERCUSSIONS music video, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
This isn’t just a music video. It’s a personal reckoning, a love letter and a step toward healing — told through dancE

As an adoptee this story is rooted in my truth.
But it’s not just about me — REPERCUSSIONS speaks to anyone who’s ever wrestled with identity, grief or the need to forgive.
If you’ve ever had to make peace with the past, this is for you.

“REPERCUSSIONS” follows Evelyn, a woman haunted by the memory of giving up her child for adoption 40 years ago.
In a surreal, emotional duet, she confronts her younger self — dancing through shame, grief, and finally, forgiveness. It’s raw. It’s dreamlike. It’s real.

Set to an original EDM track also titled “REPERCUSSIONS,” the video weaves together movement, music and striking visual storytelling to create an emotionally resonant video.
