Meet Adriana Pinto of Meche Hair Salon in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Pinto.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Adriana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved from San Francisco to LA in 2001. Started off my career as a color Assistant for Fredric Fekkai. Two and half years later I was promoted to a colorist. I was with the company for five years. From there I moved on to Cristophe salon, it wasn’t until I was given the opportunity to work at Meche where my career took off. Through years of hard work and perfecting my craft I was now working at the most coveted salons. I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world through my career. Meet amazing people and learn invaluable life lessons. When I first moved to LA I had to waitress while working as an assistant. When my day of assisting would end at Fekkai, I would sleep in my car a couple hours before working grave yard shift. I lived too far to go home and rest. I didn’t see it then, but that drive and perseverance brought me to where I am today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Struggles: you sacrifice a lot of your personal time. I didn’t start making good money until 8 years into my career.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Meche Hair Salon – what should we know?
I am a hair colorist. I am known for creating sun kissed hair color. Very natural, a good description would be “those natural, beautiful highlights you had when you were 10 or 11”. I truly care about my clients, I want their experience to be a great one. When they leave I want them to have an extra switch in their hips, because they feel that damn good!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Caring about what you do. When you truly love and care about your work, it doesn’t feel like work. You enjoy it. To be humble and not have an ego.
