Today we’d like to introduce you to Sosana Shelah
Hi sosana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling when i was 18; I got scouted volunteering on a raceway, I was wearing super baggy clothes that all of the volunteers had to wear, and I was asked my a boutique agency scout that was walking around the raceway event if I had ever modeled before. I said no and they asked me to do a shoot two weekends later for a calendar. From then on I started import modeling until the end of 2020 when my freelance career started. I have modeled for Swae Lee, Post Malone, Lizzy Mcalpine, Lil Nas X, Skrillex, Target, and various others. I was a video vixen for about 2 years and have been a commercial model for 4 years. Moving to Los Angeles really helped me branch out away from import modeling and start to make a name for myself as an individual entrepreneur.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I am only 5’4 which has restricted me from countless jobs and casting; however, I found several individuals and companies that decided to give me a chance regardless of my height.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional commercial and editorial model mainly; however, over the past two years I have been published several times as a journalists for publications around Los Angeles, along with continuing to build my following on my blog “On The Verge” where I post prose, poetry, and short stories. I have accumulated over 17,000 friends on that blog and I am so excited to continue on that journey as well. I am most proud of the diversity in the jobs that I choose. I love to venture out of my comfort zone and challenge myself – even if that means winging it 90% of the time.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The community that I surround myself with means the world to me. My friends and younger sister. Sydnie, really challenge me to be better. They inspire me with their own knowledge and crafts. Learning from them has helped building my confidence and progress is so many different ways.
