Life & Work with Jordan Kalé of Sacramento, Ca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Kalé.

Jordan Kalé

Hi Jordan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Sacramento and was raised in church, where music was a central part of my life. I started singing on stages at age nine and was artist-developed at an early age by my vocal teacher, which helped me build a strong foundation and confidence in my abilities. Over the years, I was part of various singing groups in gospel and R&B, most notably Ode to Saturday with singer-songwriter DEIY, which gave me invaluable experience collaborating and performing. I also have a dance background, having danced for several companies over the years and even leading my own dance team, which added another layer to my performance skills. Over time, I began writing and producing my own music, shaping a sound that truly feels like me. I’ve been lucky enough to open for artists like Jhene Aiko, Ludacris, Sevyn Streeter, and BJ The Chicago Kid, which taught me so much about connecting with an audience and performing live. My style is what I call eclectic soul, influenced by artists like Lenny Kravitz, Aaliyah, Brandy, and Prince, and it’s all about creating music that heals, uplifts, and speaks to people’s emotions.
In 2022, I released my first solo single, Time, which hit #25 on the iTunes R&B charts, followed by All in My Feelings in 2023. My debut EP, Outta My System, released in 2024, was a major milestone where I explored love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. In 2025, I released 333 a self empowerment jam about dunking on your goals like Jordan, a nod to Michael Jordan. Also in 2025 I released Dreamin’, a song about unexpectedly falling in love, and in 2026 I released Apple Tree featuring DEIY, which explores letting someone special into your sacred space and finding peace in a crazy world.
For me, music is always about connection. Whether through performing, dancing, writing, or just sharing my journey. I want listeners to feel something real and to be inspired to embrace their own emotions, growth, and moments of love and peace.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was coming out of a singing group after 7–8 years. In a group, you always have others to lean on onstage, behind the scenes, even in the creative process. Going solo meant I had no one to hide behind. I had to carry everything on my own and really find my voice. Both literally and creatively. On top of that, navigating the music industry independently has its own set of challenges. Releasing music on my own means handling everything from production to promotion to album art, which can be overwhelming. There were also moments of self-doubt, wondering if people would connect with my sound or if I was on the right path. Balancing my artistic growth with real-life responsibilities added another layer of complexity.
Even though it’s been challenging, every struggle has shaped me and my music. It’s taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of trusting my vision. In the end, those challenges made the successes and the ability to connect with my audience even more meaningful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an R&B singer, songwriter, and producer with a background in both music and dance. My sound is what I call eclectic soul. At its core it’s soul, but it’s blended with elements from many genres to create something fresh and uniquely me. I’m known for bringing the Love Party Vibration movement everywhere I go, whether that’s on stage, in my music, in the community or through dance.

I’m most proud of building my career independently, releasing my debut EP, Outta My System, and singles like Time, 333, Dreamin’, and Apple Tree, all while staying true to my creative vision. What sets me apart is my ability to combine vocals, storytelling, and movement into a full experience that engages people on multiple levels. I want every listener to feel joy, love, and inspiration. Whether they’re watching, listening, or dancing along with me.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is all about achieving your goals. Every time I check off a goal big or small, that’s a success. I see every victory as meaningful, because each one is a step forward, a reflection of growth and progress. It’s not just about reaching the finish line. It’s about celebrating the journey and the wins along the way.
