Life & Work with Jeania Pierre of Niajaye Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeania Pierre.

Hi Jeania, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
What sparked the fuel and ambition in me to launch my cosmetic business, occurred when one of my students from my dance club made a comment regarding how women of color were unable to wear different shades of lipsticks. This initiated me in making a deal to wear any color lipstick she requested. In addition to that, I encouraged her to vocalize that she is beautiful every time we encountered. Emboldened by our tacit agreement and daily affirmations, I proudly wore bright-colored lipstick every day. I was committed to doing what I had to do to aid in her viewing how beautiful she was in her very own skin. Little did I know while helping her build her confidence, my very own self-esteem was rebirth. From that moment on, I motivated myself to build my own natural lip wear collection and persevered to cater to individuals of all skin tones. Although I build confidence to start, the fear of starting my business placed me on hold. One day while engaging in a conversation with an entrepreneur, she encouraged me to step out on faith and just start small. “It’s better to start your very own brand than living with regrets,” she stated. So, on December of 2019, I took a leap of faith and withdrew money from my savings; I also applied for a second job. I knew immediately these efforts to start my own brand, would be extremely rewarding at the end.

I have been blessed with being featured in magazines, to being on The Connect Morning Talk Show on the CW Network, as well as being on The Love Jones Show on Excitement Radio and Real Talk for Real Life Show. now being a Broward Collective Mom Beauty and Fashion Blogger, to having my lipstick collection at a couple boutiques nd online. One of my biggest accomplishments aside from my brand Niajaye Cosmetics was having not one but to five Beauty and Wellness Expo this November to empower, while building a community of support for all human, especially women. I have been blessed to have these successful events.

My products are 100% vegan, versatile and filled with intense color that gives your lips full, long-lasting coverage with a smooth finish. I believe “that you are the brand that makes Niajaye’s Lipwear Collection FLAWLESS!” Everyone should want to have healthier, vibrant, and recognizable lips! Most of the time people purchase items based on what they see others wearing. I am proud that I am not one of those individuals. I can confidently say I am wearing my own brand when I am out and about!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I must say that it started rough, but that didn’t stop me. I started making great sales and promoting myself at events or in person.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, new challenges presented themselves, but it gave me time to think of different marketing strategies and further cement the need for new sales tactics. I have been encouraged and successfully collaborated and networking with small business owners.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As the CEO of Niajaye Cosmetics and the Founder of the Niajaye Beauty & Wellness Expo, my goal is to empower women through beauty, wellness, confidence, and community. As a teacher, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, earning my MBA and content creator, I specialize in creating spaces in both online and in person that inspire women to heal, grow, and embrace their self-worth. Through live interviews, social media platforms, wellness expos, and my cosmetic brand, especially the Niajaye Cosmetics lip collection designed for all skin tones. My area of expertise is developing online and offline environments that encourage women to recover, develop, and value themselves. Through live interviews, social media, wellness expos, and my cosmetics brand, especially the Niajaye Cosmetics lip collection designed for all skin tones, I aim to educate women about the importance of mental wellness, self-love, and confidence in addition to physical attractiveness.

I’m most proud of building Niajaye Cosmetics from the ground up while overcoming personal challenges as a single mom rebuilding my confidence and starting over. Despite obstacles, I stepped out on faith in 2019, funded my vision through savings and a second job, and turned my pain into purpose. Through Niajaye Cosmetics and hosting four successful Niajaye Beauty & Wellness Expos, I’ve been able to create a platform that genuinely uplifts, empowers, and connects women, which has been one of my greatest accomplishments.

What sets me apart is my authenticity and relatability. I don’t just promote beauty products, I share my real journey, my healing, and my growth. I connect with women through honest conversations, empowerment interviews, and motivational content that encourages them to keep going no matter what season of life they’re in. My goal has always been bigger than makeup; it’s about building confidence, community, and empowerment from the inside out.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I believe the beauty and wellness industry will focus more on overall wellness, self-care, and confidence instead of just appearance. People want authentic brands that promote inclusivity, mental wellness, and real connections, which is why my Niajaye Cosmetics lipstick collection was created to empower women of all skin tones to feel confident and beautiful. I also see Niajaye Cosmetics continuing to grow by expanding our lipstick collection, reaching more women globally, and creating even more spaces through the Niajaye Beauty & Wellness Expo where women can connect, heal, and feel empowered
