Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Walker.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always had a passion for makeup and fashion. One day I told myself I want to be successful doing what I love. So, I decided to start doing makeup on others and gaining clients. It definitely took a lot of practice and hard work. Also had to learn more information overall.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It have not been easy. However, I wouldn’t trade it. All the struggles and challenges I faced made me stronger and better at my craft. I struggled with confidence starting out but once I was able to see the gift I had and the great job I did, I couldn’t stop. I struggle here and there on how to create or give exactly what my client wants because not everything will be exactly the same as before or same liking of another person’s craft. Since I deal with makeup, I try my best to make sure it is very much similar outcome and using same products to achieve that.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a makeup artist that specializes in Glam and Sfx. I also can-do face painting as well. I am proud of how far I came. I started off by just doing one area, and I branched into other specialty ones. I think my determination for success sets me apart. I will make sure I get to where I want to be, and that’s being bigger than I ever dreamed.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Of course, makeup makes me happy because that is what I live doing, and would like to make it a full-time job. However, my main purpose of happiness is my daughter, zen. She makes me go stronger. Whenever I feel like my dream of being a mua full-time gets hard, I can always have her to make me happy and brighten up my day.
