Life & Work with Elliot Bright of Encino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elliot Bright

Hi Elliot, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
BrightSlide started while I was still living in New York around the late 20-teens. It was just an instagram account for me to collect personal memories along my journey as a grassroots drifter. I always had an admiration for drifting and hunger for motorsport. Over time my passion for motorsport and drifting grew and – thanks to my primarily profession in medicine-
I could afford to drive more often and among better drivers. My gift to myself for getting into grad school was leasing a brand new FRS which I took to the track just a month after bringing it home. I learned a lot while driving at Clubloose and RSD events. After moving to California and buying a 2018 Mustang GT for a nicer daily, I thought I would slow down drifting. Instead I would often get asked when I would compete and eventually I decided to test my skills on a Drift Week tour. After I realized I could hang with some much more serious drifters, I decided to throw my hat in the mix and start competing!
I won 1st place at my 2nd ever Pro-Am competition beating out drivers that were much more accomplished. That’s where I decided to take my motorsport brand to the next level and become a professional. 3 years later, I still compete thanks to great environments created by HotPit AutoFest and The Drift League, I drive demos and exhibitions such as Fuel Fest where I put on a show and give some folks ridealongs – in many cases- a once in a life time experience. I sell team merchandise and promote partner brands.
The main service I provide for clients is creating brand awareness and creating fun unique advertising content for brands that join my program. I also provide advisement to newcomers and intermediate drifters.

I am not the #1 biggest or most successful drifter, but I have achieved a lot more than I had ever expected. That is due mostly to the passion and love I have for the sport but I would not be this successful without the love and support from my family, friends, and partners.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has simply been a climb. Operating a motorsport company in SoCal is in many ways easier than compared to other areas in the country let alone the world, but it is also harder in some ways due to the competition and saturation from other drivers/teams. Motorsport can get heated and some personalities can be difficult to deal with. Being born and raised in New York for 25 years I have definitely had to adjust to some social differences but I have learned from every opportunity and tried to contribute to the community on and off the track.
One sad struggle or setback worth discussing is adjusting to the takeover/sideshow culture that seems much more prevalent in California vs the rest of the country. This cancerous trend hurts motorsport as a whole but especially drifting because the participants like to associate themselves as drifters when they are NOT. I pride myself on not only never attending or condoning that behavior but also by helping convert some of those previous participants to keeping it safer by sticking to the track. As the world moves toward electric vehicles and culture shifts I believe that those who truly love motorsports must work together to preserve the health of our community from within.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
BrightSlide Motorsport is a multifaceted motorsport and marketing brand. I specialize in competition and demo/exhibition drifting and content creation for brand awareness and targeted advertisement.
I am most known for being a crowd favorite due to me and my 2018 Mustang’s aggressive style on track.
I am most proud of winning 1st place at my 3rd ever competition.
I am set apart from the others as the Mustang is a smaller population of cars on track, I run a fairly simple stock car, I am also an actively practicing medical provider, I have been told I am decent at talking to the camera and bringing the energy which I think is just a byproduct of how much I love this sport.

Any big plans?
2025 will focus a lot of internal re-organizing but also growth. I have added another new chassis to the fleet which I will release soon! My competition Mustang will go through a major refresh, and we will focus on larger demo events more than competition so we can get more laps each day and interact with more people! We are also shifting our focus from instagram to youtube to provide more engaging and interesting content!
