Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Andersen.
Hi Courtney, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Fitness has always been my passion! I began my journey in dance, competing and performing since age 4. During high school I was a song leader as well as a member of the swim team. I attended UCLA and became a member of the Spirit Squad. We traveled to sporting events and led the crowd with cheers and gymnastics. After college I began my next phase of fitness and fell into the world of triathlons, eventually completing 5 Ironman races. When babies were born, I knew I loved running and could not find the time for swimming and biking. Since then, I have completed five marathons and recently qualified for the 2025 Boston Marathon. In 2020 I founded the Courtney Andersen You Tube channel. My channel includes all aspects of workouts, including HIIT, kickboxing, low impact, and much more. I also have two LIVE workouts a week on Discord. It’s so much fun working out with my subscribers. They inspire me!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As far as the fitness part of my road is concerned, it’s been exciting. I love new challenges, and over the years I’ve tried so many different types of training and conditioning. As for struggles, when I began my YouTube channel, I had to come up against all the new advances in technology. Wow, it’s been a constant battle trying to keep up. It’s a love-hate relationship for me with trying to stay on top of the technology and social media part of my business. It’s good for my brain, though, and I love learning!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in high-quality fitness workouts for all levels, from beginners to advanced. I have 10-minute videos to 60-minute videos. My channel includes LIVE classes and recorded classes. I include shorts where I give workout tips and exciting ideas on improving your fitness and health too. I am extremely proud of the quality of my channel and my workouts. I shoot my videos in beautiful locations as well as my home. I think what I am most proud of AND what sets my apart from others is my attention to my subscribers. I answer every comment I receive on my YouTube channel as well as on my social media. I really care about my people and love to interact with them. During my live classes on Discord, we visit before and after class for a more intimate connection. I love getting to know them and love my Book Club as well as my Book A Call, so we can really connect on a personal level.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
When I embarked on this wonderful dream, I had no idea what I was in for. The countless hours it would take to set up my channel, the name, the email, the Facebook and Instagram accounts, TikTok, and on and on. I am still learning, and I will always be learning but it’s fun. Start slowly, and don’t become overwhelmed. Make sure you are really up on the trends and know what is current in your industry. Keep yourself trained and certified. Make sure you have a Media Kit and you are ready to promote your product on many different channels. I have taken classes on how to promote my channel and how to make brand deals, anything you can do to develop your brand and increase awareness. Remember, you are working with the public; don’t get caught up in social media. Make sure you are focused on your product and keeping it high quality. Nothing great happens overnight; it takes a lot of time and energy.
