Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Ramirez.
Hi Bryan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started tattooing in Los Angeles in 2008. I took art classes in 2010 and took classes with different artists that were doing figure drawing, painting and illustration art. I opened up my own shop “Reservoir Tattoo Studio” in 2015.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As an artist, some of the hardest obstacles was developing my skills and ability. There is no way to speed up the process, all you can do is work hard and work on something everyday for a long period of time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in portrait realism. I am known for my portraits and realistic black and grey work. I’m most proud of my personal drawings and paintings because I really get to put a lot of love and energy into these pieces of art when most of them revolve around my family and my culture.
What were you like growing up?
My interests were into art as a kid. I was born in Los Angeles and closed to Downtown LA where I spent a lot of my time. The oldest out of six so I come from a big family.
