Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Reeser
Hi Autumn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m an alchemist with a storyteller’s soul. In my family, we are people who live simply and connected to nature, so for me to have an ambitious dream of moving to the ‘big city’ of Los Angeles at 17 to become an actress was out of the ordinary— but I did it. I waitressed tables on the midnight shift at Jerry’s Deli, went to theatre school at UCLA and studied the film industry with every breath of my body until I broke through and found myself starring in shows like Entourage, The OC and 20 movies for the Hallmark Channel. Along the way I had more than a few spiritual awakenings, which I thought at first were deeply at odds with the original path that I had chosen — until I surrendered to the reality that I am here to be a bridge from the old world to the new. I demonstrate publicly what it looks like to merge the path of the artist with that of the seeker, and I teach others how to do the same. In addition to my ongoing film and TV work, I now work in a 1:1 capacity with those who are awakening to their inner truth, and hold an online conscious community called Earth School for people all over the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As someone who is here to embody and teach about Love, sometimes the best way to learn that path is to be initiated into what is NOT Love. I partnered very young with someone who became verbally, emotionally and mentally abusive, and through my experience clawing my way out of that relationship, I found my true center and became a writer and teacher. I am now intimately acquainted with how childhood pain and toxic methods of control can overtake a soul — as well as how to heal from being caught inside those traps. My greatest gift to my children now is my sovereignty and the way I respect theirs. I see who they are here to become and have the honor of teaching them how to practice healthy communication in relationships, something most of us never learned growing up.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My purpose here on earth is transformation. I create that with acting through my character work, with my writing and producing through the kinds of stories I tell and with my coaching work where I guide people through their own internal transformation. My path is alchemy, which means I take something from a lower state of being to a higher one. Finding and revealing the gold within. I’m great at seeing the deeper threads of a story that weave themselves through a screenplay and I’m great at finding the beautiful threads of truth woven throughout someone’s actual lived experience. My purpose is to elevate and I endeavor to do that in all that I offer.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the smell of our flowers in the summer and the scent of our sage on hiking trails in the winter. At the moment, I am weary of ongoing construction and how that impacts the flow of traffic. Nothing new there:)
