Life & Work with Attinshun

Today we’d like to introduce you to Attinshun. They and their team shared their story with us below:

ATTINSHUN was established in March of 2018 when founder Jerel A., and members of the band took a business trip to Punta Cana to perform. It was clear, after performing, that there was something melodic happening. What ensued soon after was nothing short of an all-night business planning meeting to pull four (4) musicians/singers/songwriters and producers together under one name. It took a while to figure out what that name would be. But one day, while rehearsing for a gig we started to play and mouthed the phrase, “Can I have your attention?”. The phrase was fire but needed a twist, hence the conception of the name ATTINSHUN. We are where we are because of our musicianship, dedication, consistency, talent and creativity.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh no, it has not been a smooth road. There’s this thing called a “creative block” that you have to continuously overcome. But we have to pause, take a step back, and come back in full force. Another roadblock was learning how to compromise because we are all so creative we may not agree on certain things. But, through the roadblocks and the process of creating we realized that every setback makes us stronger as a group and individually, and it drives us to do so much more creatively.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
ATTINSHUN is a band of four brothers and musicians that specialize in providing that “feel good” music. Our versatility is like no other, and our love for different genres of music sets us apart. We are most proud and excited about the journey, the build and the creativity of ATTINSHUN. Music is life. We eat, sleep, and breathe music! So, this is what we do, and we do it well. We released a new single called “One Day at a Time”. The single along with our other music is streaming on all platforms. We are also currently working on our album. So, we have been putting in work and can’t wait for you all to hear the finished product.

How do you define success?
Success is when you know you have reached your goal and you understand your purpose. Success is when your money begins to work for you, rather than you continuously having to work for the money.
