Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelina Roychenko
Hi Angelina , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My dance journey began in Russia, where I first fell in love with movement and the power of storytelling through the body. I trained extensively in ballroom dance, eventually becoming a professional competitor. By the age of 12, I already knew my dreams stretched far beyond the borders of my hometown. I dreamed of moving to the United States, a vision so clear that it became a driving force in my life.
Dance was my outlet, my passion, and my teacher. I earned titles such as Master of Sport in Ballroom and Candidate Master of Sport in Rhythmic Gymnastics, competing and winning on international stages. But as much as I cherished those achievements, I yearned for something more—a place where I could grow both as a dancer and as an individual.
Three years ago, I made the leap and moved to Los Angeles. It wasn’t an easy transition. I left behind everything familiar, stepping into a new world without guarantees. But I was determined to follow the dreams I believed God placed in my heart.
In LA, I earned an AA Degree in Performance Art (Dance) from Santa Monica College, immersing myself in Latin dances like Samba, Salsa, and Jive. I began teaching, choreographing music videos, and working with artists on creative projects. Through it all, I’ve stayed grounded in my belief that dance is not just about technique; it’s about confidence, self-expression, and connection.
Today, I’m not only dancing but also sharing what I’ve learned with others, teaching feminine energy through movement and helping people discover their confidence on the dance floor. My journey has taught me that with faith, perseverance, and hard work, anything is possible. Moving to Los Angeles wasn’t just a career step—it was a leap of faith to build the life I always envisioned.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving across the world to pursue my dreams came with its fair share of challenges. I left behind my family, friends, and the familiarity of home to start fresh in a country where I didn’t know anyone and had no safety net.
One of the hardest parts was navigating the cultural differences and finding my place in an entirely new environment. On top of that, the financial strain of starting over was immense. I had to work multiple jobs to support myself while continuing my dance training, which required not only physical endurance but also emotional resilience.
There were moments when things didn’t go as planned—like dealing with injuries or trying to break into new opportunities—but each challenge taught me to adapt, grow, and keep moving forward.
Despite the difficulties, I see the struggles as stepping stones to where I am now. Every obstacle has made the journey more meaningful, and I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional dancer, choreographer, and instructor specializing in ballroom, Latin dances, and feminine movement. My work focuses on not only teaching dance techniques but also helping others discover confidence, self-expression, and their unique energy through movement.
I’m known for my ability to connect with people and make dance approachable, even for beginners. I believe that everyone can dance with the right guidance and encouragement. My classes emphasize musicality, body awareness, and bringing out each person’s individual style.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve had on my students and audiences. Whether it’s helping someone feel more comfortable in their own skin or creating a choreography that tells a powerful story, I love seeing how dance can transform people’s lives.
What sets me apart is my unique blend of professional competition experience and a deep understanding of performance art. Having competed internationally and choreographed for music videos, I bring both technical expertise and creative vision to everything I do. Additionally, my personal journey of moving across the world and starting from scratch has given me a drive and passion that fuels my work every single day.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are both exciting and ambitious. One of my biggest goals is to be on Dancing with the Stars. I’ve always dreamed of showcasing my passion and dedication on such a grand stage, and I’m actively working towards making that a reality.
In addition to dance, I’m also planning to explore acting. I believe it’s a natural extension of my creative expression and a chance to share stories in a new and impactful way.
Another major focus is growing my social media community. I want to inspire and empower more girls to discover confidence in themselves, whether it’s through dance, self-expression, or simply believing in their dreams. By sharing my journey, tips, and experiences, I hope to create a positive space where women can feel supported and encouraged to embrace their unique beauty and strength.
There’s so much ahead, and I’m excited for every step of this journey!
