Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Sandra.
Hi Alex , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I always wanted to be an artist. But overtime, when I faced difficult times and came from a dysfunctional family background, music became my way of processing emotions, feelings, and traumas. That’s when it truly became something I could not live without. Music became the one place where I could be completely honest.
I perform live regularly, collaborate with different musicians, and create music that blends heavy rock with emotional storytelling.
My work is rooted in themes of trauma, healing, and self-empowerment. I want people to feel seen when they listen — like they’re not alone in whatever they’re going through.
Right now, I’m preparing to release my debut album BIOMASS, which represents a full chapter of my life. It’s the most honest and complete version of my story so far — and I’m ready to share it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been tough at every stage. The music industry is demanding, and most independent musicians juggle multiple jobs just to fund their careers. I’ve done that too—paying out of pocket while the cost of living skyrockets. On top of that, being a woman in this space has its own challenges—especially as time passes. Life doesn’t pause for you: I’ve had kids, taken maternity breaks, and when you come back, you often feel like the world’s moved on without you. It’s not easy. But despite all of that, I’m still here, still making music, and proud of where I’ve gotten today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a metalcore/alternative metal artist and performer. I create emotionally driven music that blends heavy sound with honest storytelling, dedicated to survivors and healing from traumas. I write and develop my music independently, co-write with producers, and collaborate with different musicians. As a survivor, it’s important that my music reaches those who need it. I keep my real personality out there so others see that healing is possible. I’m building a space for all of us—where we can stop hiding, be ourselves, and have a safe space to process together.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Ready for it to be harder than you expect—and take longer than you want. The industry won’t support you at first, so build your own path. Don’t wait for permission—start where you are. Protect your authenticity; that’s what truly connects. And take care of yourself—the journey can be exhausting, but if you keep showing up, it will pay off
