Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Tara.
Hi Tina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. I started to play the classical piano from the age of three, began to sing at six years old and wrote my first song at 14. After moving to Spain where I spent one year studying the Spanish language and culture, I moved to London to further my music career. I attended the BIMM Institute for Music and began to produce my own material which I performed together with my original ten piece band in and around London.
I worked with artists like Tony Mortimer(East 17), Dele Ladimeji (Natasha Bedingfield), Phil Edwards (AllSaints, Mariah Carey) and recently with Jerry Barnes (Nile Rodgers) and William S Barnes (Beyonce, Roberta Flack u.o), who co-produced my late 2019 single “Worth It”. In 2018, I met Anthony Goldsbrough – Producer, Songwriter and Manager – who I began an ongoing collaboration with that lead to the songs “Arriba” and “Worth It”. I have performed in different countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland and United States. I love to entertain crowds as a soloist playing the piano, but also turn it up and perform with a full band to bring an audience out of their seats and onto the dance floor.
In 2020, I released my third single “Maybe” on 14th February together with the official video release. This song climbed the US charts and topped at #34 BDS Nielsen Billboard Indicator Chart in the US. I was the only independent artist on the Top 40 and the first to hit that spot in 2020. Other Chart positions include New Music Weekly Charts on #3 Independent Charts, #8 Top 40 and #10 Hot 100. In summer, I released my last single “Wanna Be” on the 7th August 2020. After that, I took the leap and packed my bags to move to the United States. I now officially work and live here and am creating more music to be released in 2021.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think that any creation story is a smooth road, but that is okay. In my eyes, our challenges are what shape us and create the character in us. My road was rocky and sometimes smooth, it taught me about myself, but it also taught me the most important lesson – that I am REALLY here to do this. If it would have been easier, my dedication for my art would never have had the chance to grow this strong and undeniable, and for that I am forever grateful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist, songwriter, music producer, dancer and video producer. I am proud of every hurdle I have overcome, whether it was private or professional. What sets me apart from others. I guess my fans can answer that question better than me 🙂
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Just showing up, doing the best I can every time and relax.
