Today we’d like to introduce you to Summit Sessions and its creators Andre Baca and Marcel Scott.

Hi Marcel and Andre, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started Summit Sessions, our live music stream, to give artists a place to perform during Covid in a safe environment. We started in April and we’re absolutely astounded by the positive response we’ve already gotten.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a rough road and it continues to be. Everyday is met with different challenges, some good, some bad, but overall we love the experience and we love what all the challenges bring each day.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Summit Sessions’ initial intention was to bring a concert feel in an outdoor environment while live performances are unable to happen. It’s grown into something more beautiful than that though, and it feels so much more intimate in some ways than just a concert, especially with our interview portion of the show where our host Bobby Berry takes a deep dive into each artist’s life and music.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Covid has changed everything, and it’s flipped the music industry on its head. Will that continue in 5 years? Probably not, but we do think that the trend of more online concerts taking over will continue. We already have plans of what our stream is going to look and feel like after Covid.
