Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee and Ricky Vigil
Hi Renee and Ricky, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, we are Renee Vigil, the creator/co-owner, and Ricky Vigil, co-owner, of RVigilPhotos: a Southern California photography and videography business. We both are customer service lovers, your professional third-wheelers and personal paparazzi team.
Renee’s passion for photography started after she purchased her first iPhone years ago as she became known as the photographer for friends and family gatherings. With the encouragement of several friends, family and Ricky, RVigilPhotos was born in 2021 after capturing a few family and maternity sessions. Flash forward to 2022, a wedding couple was in need of a photographer last minute and Renee offered to photograph this big day. It was her first wedding photography gig ever and she was nervous, excited and all the emotions. Ricky assisted that day with capturing small video clips for the wedding.
Since that wedding in 2022, RVigilPhotos has grown significantly with providing services for over 175 sessions which includes weddings, quinceañeras, birthday parties, engagements, family photos, maternity sessions, graduations, business ventures, boudoir sessions, content creation and more.
Renee is our lead photographer and all things behind the scenes for RVigilPhotos. Ricky is our full-time videographer, video content creator and drone pilot. Bobby, from BobbyTorresMedia, is our primary second shooter for wedding events. We are so thankful to our clients, vendor friends, family members, friends and colleagues who have encouraged us to keep growing our business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Branching out into such a competitive and saturated industry was not easy. We would ask other vendors for tips and tricks, watch YouTube and TikTok tutorials, practice, practice, PRACTICE. We are still learning new skills and want to continue to grow in our craft.
As a couple who has been married for almost 15 years, we knew what experience we had on our wedding day; it was drama filled and not the best memory for us. We had engaged with a few professional photographers over the years who left us feeling defeated after receiving photos that were not flattering and did not make us feel special. Those feelings are what we remember from those days of having our photos taken. We knew we wanted to keep our business client centered and to treat everyone with love, kindness and with professionalism at each session whether it was a wedding or a mini session. We have tried to remain affordable with our pricing and flexible for payments as everyone deserves to capture memories.

We specialize in photography and videography including weddings, quinceañeras, birthday parties, engagements, family photos, maternity sessions, graduations, elopements, boudoir, content creation, etc. We specialize in customer service and love providing our clients with an amazing experience from the first phone consultation to the session or pre-shoot to the big day event.
What sets us apart, is that we are a team that cares about every aspect of your day. We are there to serve you and make sure you feel comfortable/are taken care of. Yes, we will grab you drinks and food during your event. We always have an emergency kit on standby for any mishaps like bobby pins for your hair, a lint roller for dust or a safety pin if an outfit snags. We are known as professional dress fluffers and day of coordinators (the list goes on). We do not provide bare minimum amounts of footage and tend to overshoot for our photo side of the house (oops!). For events, we capture the day candidly so that clients can look back on their photos and videos to walk through the most important special memories and relive their big days. For smaller sessions, we try to capture genuine feelings and sweet moments for clients to recall.
We want to continue on this journey to serve our clients. We care and are a husband-wife owned business. We want everyone to feel special. We know that life is short and the photos/videos we capture will live on forever.

Our 2024 year is fully booked for events, which we are extremely grateful for! We have little availability for smaller sessions but have mini sessions open for October.
