Inspiring Conversations with Jessica Davila of Glow for your Soul Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Davila.

Hi Jessica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have a background in Education and have worked in a school setting for about 16 years. When the pandemic hit, I decided to go back to school for something completely unrelated to Education and went for Esthetics. I became a fully Licensed Esthetician in October of 2021 and decided to pursue it full-time. Moved into a suite in the summer and still love to incorporate tons of education for my clients and fellow Estheticians. I love researching and continuing my education with anything related to skin.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When someone mentions they own a business, one’s first reaction may be “Wow, they must have their entire life together”. It definitely is not always like that. It has so many highs and just as many matching lows. Especially in the industry of Esthetics, we wear so many hats: we are the service providers, managers, social media coordinators, clean-up crew, bookkeeping – you name it! It’s definitely a windy road but it has to be one of the most rewarding, especially getting messages from clients reminding you how great you made them feel. It’s all worth it!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Glow for your Soul Aesthetics?
My business name was birthed with the idea of wanting to be more than skin deep. I want my clients to feel safe and magical after every appointment. To literally glow from the soul out! I specialize in skin health. So besides the glass skin look – I like to get to know a client’s lifestyle, stress levels, etc. to get a better understanding of how skin reacts. My most requested service is a Dermaplane facial where I use a surgical-grade blade to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz on the face.

I love incorporating Facial Massage to facials, it stimulates the skin and feels like a workout for your face!

I am proud of taking a leap of faith and pursuing my goal of becoming a businesswoman. Also, just having my esthetic business because it’s allowed me to slow down in my personal life and become a better mom to my kids, who fully support my small business dreams.

I think my authenticity sets me apart. My personality, values and spirit all align with my business. Giving a full experience of relaxation and skincare-driven results in my treatments.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That Imposter Syndrome is all in your head. Sometimes it can weigh heavily especially in a busy world of social media. It plays with your head and can trick you into thinking you’re not doing the best, which ultimately can lead to burnout. It’s important to get out of your head, keep doing your thing and know that even if you have a small client list – those clients still chose YOU for a reason.
