Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Mansfield.
Hi Jesse, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My path into massage therapy started when I was only 7 years old. Whenever my dad’s shoulders or neck hurt, I’d instinctively give him attention, and I just seemed to know where the “knots” were, and I could feel that I was good at working them out. That gave me a sense of accomplishment and pride, and soon I was giving massages to family and friends who got a lot of relief from my work, even though it was all intuitive and I had no training.
Though I had this gift, I didn’t jump right into a career with it. At 16, I started working odd jobs—thrift stores, and later a coffee shop where I worked for about seven years. During that time, I had a boss in Chicago named Erica Corleone I’d give massages to her at work, and she eventually went to massage school herself. She invited me to join her, but at that point, I wasn’t ready. I was struggling with substance abuse, and deep down I knew I couldn’t truly step into a healing career until I faced that.
One night I had what I can only describe as a spiritual awakening. I heard this inner voice say, “Let go, surrender Jess.” That hit me hard. That same evening, I went into my room, gathered up everything that wasn’t serving me, and threw it all away. I realized that my addiction was just my way of coping with pain, and I made a decision that night: I wasn’t going to harm myself anymore and my health would become my top priority.
Not long after, I found a massage school near me: Advanced School of Massage Therapy in Thousand Oaks, California-and that’s where my professional journey truly began. Since then, I’ve aimed to expand my knowledge by studying massage and healing modalities with proven results I believe in all over the world, which has taken me all over the USA, as well as introduced me to some of my favorite places in the world including Mexico, Thailand, and France among many others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My road definitely wasn’t smooth. I went through a lot of inner struggles, addiction, losing friends and family, and facing the pain of knowing I had hurt people along the way while I was spiraling downward. For a long time, I carried the belief that I wasn’t “lovable” or “good enough” to have the life I wanted. That was the biggest lie – the idea that what I truly wanted wasn’t available to me, whether it was a fulfilling career or the kind of partnership I longed for.
What shifted for me was realizing that so much of my suffering came from my own perception. I was in pain physically and emotionally, but deep down I knew it was a matter of having a small amount faith and taking consistent action every day.
I started turning to books that opened my mind and gave me hope – Wayne Dyer: There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem, Deepak Chopra: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, and Napoleon Hill: Think and Grow Rich. Those ideas helped me see that life had meaning behind every intention, and that eventually guided me toward becoming a massage therapist and healer.
I believe we all have the potential to go beyond the limitations we’ve been programmed with from childhood—whether from family, school, religion, or society. It’s an illusion that we’re separate from what we want in life. The truth is, everything we could ever want is already here, right now.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business, Wellness 360, takes a holistic approach towards helping people heal and transform naturally. I specialize in the John Barnes Myofascial Release Approach, a hands on therapy that works with the body’s connective tissue to release tension, pain, and restrictions. I am also a trained Hypnotherapist who is currently taking an advanced training course with Marisa Peer called Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT).
Many people find me after going through the traditional allopathic system. Western medicine has its place, if you need surgery, an organ transplant, or emergency care, that’s undoubtedly essential. But for long-term health, stress management and pain, I think people are realizing that system often manages symptoms instead of addressing the root causes.
At Wellness 360, I focus on getting to the root of the problem. When a client comes in, I take time to understand their unique concerns and history, because without identifying the underlying issues, it’s difficult to make meaningful progress.
What makes my practice different is a combination of personalized care and understanding the root cause. John Barnes Myofascial Release goes beyond treating surface level of pain – it helps unwind deep restrictions in the fascia, which can be the hidden source of long standing physical and emotional pain patterns. That lead me to addressing the emotional and spiritual component of physical pain, in a way that would allow my clients to heal themselves. I found an advanced form of hypnotherapy, called RTT, which is an optimal tool for helping people to reprogram their subconscious of limiting beliefs which no other talk therapy does. Understanding that we hold the power to change our beliefs can allow us to change our reality. To live the highest vision of your soul’s calling to me is the ultimate pleasure of being human.
I’m proud that Wellness 360 has become a place where people who have “tried everything else” finally find hope and transformation. Clients often tell me that what sets my work apart is not just the technique itself, but the space I hold for them to feel safe, understood, and supported on every level.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: Healing is possible, and it doesn’t always have to come from outside interventions, gurus, or pharmaceuticals. With the right approach, your body has the wisdom and ability to restore balance. At Wellness 360, I’m here to guide that process with skill, compassion, and proven techniques that honor the whole person.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was a day with my dad. He asked me, “What do you want to do today?” and I decided to test the waters, I said, “Let’s go to a theme park!” To my surprise, he lit up and said, “Yeah, let’s go!” We ended up at Universal Studios Hollywood, which was like a dream for me.
I’ll never forget riding the E.T. ride, I was obsessed with aliens as a kid (I still am) —and hearing E.T. actually say my name as I passed by. That little detail put the biggest smile on my face.
Afterwards, we were both starving, and once again he let me choose. I said “l’d love BBQ”, and just like that, my wish came true. I thought the day couldn’t get any better but then he surprised me one last time: “Do you want to go to the drive-in?” Of course, I said yes. We ended the night watching Robocop 3, and I remember thinking, Wow, what a day—I got to go to a theme park, eat BBQ, and see a movie with my dad. I was so tired from our adventure that I passed out in the middle of the movie.
That memory has always stayed with me, not just because of what we did, but because of the way my dad created space for adventure, freedom, and joy all in one day.
