Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started doing nails about ten years ago, one of my goals in my career was to own my own nail studio and have a consistent clientele. I achieved and maintained that goal about six years ago. Last Summer, 2022, I came across one of the latest style trends, which is Permanent Jewelry. Permanent Jewelry is clasp-less jewelry that is Micro-welded together, allowing you to wear your piece for as long as you wish. Although my schedule doesn’t allow me to take on any new nail clients, I figured adding this service would not only add value to my nail services but also allows me to meet new clients since the service only takes about 15 minutes.
One of my favorite parts about my career is that I get to meet such incredible, inspiring & strong people. People that have gone through different walks of life. Even in the 15 minutes that I am with them, their energy brings me so much happiness and I am so grateful that I get to spark joy with a simple bracelet or piece of jewelry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been lucky enough to have been surrounded by such supportive mentors who have lead me in the right direction. My husband, my business partners and my nail clients have also been super supportive of everything I do. They are my biggest cheerleaders. They have totally made my journey smooth. I also love that I have surrounded myself with amazing fellow permanent jewelry artists. It’s so easy for small businesses to be so competitive against each other. I’m a “community vs. competition” kind of gal. I love to pay it forward by offering advice for this industry and rooting for my fellow permanent jewelry community.
