Today we’d like to introduce you to Giscard Ndjogou Nguisamba.
Hi Giscard, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Giscard Nzita Ndjogou Nguisamba, and I am a journalist, author, spoken-word artist, and social-impact entrepreneur. My journey began in Gabon, Cameroun, where I developed a strong desire to give a voice to people whose stories are often overlooked. I started as a columnist and field reporter, eventually becoming one of the most active young journalists of my generation.
After years of work in Central Africa and a deep commitment to social justice, life led me to the United States. This transition became a rebirth for me. Here, I founded AYOCA – Africa You Can Foundation, an organization dedicated to youth empowerment, education, and humanitarian development. I also created AFROSCOPIE Media, a storytelling and analysis platform highlighting African issues, culture, talent, and the global African diaspora.
Today, I divide my time between writing books, producing media content, developing community projects, and serving as Vice-President of the International Film & Inclusion Festival.
Through all these roles, my mission remains the same: to serve, to tell meaningful stories, to inspire, and to build bridges between Africa, the United States, and the world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has not been easy. Coming from Central Africa, I had to overcome limited resources, political pressures, and environments where opportunities for young creatives and journalists were extremely restricted. Choosing to use my voice came with personal risks, and standing for truth sometimes meant standing alone.
Moving to the United States brought its own challenges—starting from scratch, navigating a new culture, rebuilding my network, and learning to balance survival with my mission. But every obstacle pushed me to grow, sharpen my vision, and commit even more to serving my community.
These challenges shaped my resilience. They taught me to transform adversity into purpose, and to use my story to inspire and uplift others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about AYOCA – Africa You Can Foundation & AFROSCOPIE Media?
AYOCA – Africa You Can Foundation and AFROSCOPIE Media are two pillars of the same mission: empowering communities, elevating African voices, and building bridges between Africa, the United States, and the world.
AYOCA – Africa You Can Foundation is a social-impact organization focused on youth empowerment, education, access to clean water, and community development. We work directly with local communities to design sustainable, human-centered solutions. From water supply projects to youth training and social programs, our goal is to create long-lasting change and provide opportunities for the next generation of African leaders.
AFROSCOPIE Media is a storytelling and analysis platform dedicated to reframing the African narrative. Through documentaries, interviews, podcasts, and cultural content, AFROSCOPIE highlights African issues, talent, creativity, and the global diaspora. The platform gives voice to those who are often unheard and sheds light on stories that deserve visibility and respect.
What sets both AYOCA and AFROSCOPIE apart is our commitment to authenticity, dignity, and impact. We do not simply create content or run programs — we build movements, inspire minds, and connect communities across continents.
I am proud that both brands have earned a reputation for integrity, innovation, and service.
What I want readers to remember is simple:
AYOCA represents hope in action. AFROSCOPIE represents stories that awaken. Together, they form a powerful ecosystem built to inspire, empower, and transform.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is waking up early in the morning in my hometown, before the noise of the day began, and listening to the world come to life. I remember the smell of the ocean wind, the laughter of children in the neighborhood, and the peaceful moments where I felt completely free and full of imagination.
Those quiet mornings shaped my creativity. They were the moments where I dreamed the most, where I felt connected to something bigger, and where I first imagined the life and mission I am pursuing today. It is a memory that still gives me strength and clarity whenever I need grounding.
