Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Hamann.
Hi Alyssa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, entrepreneurship was all around me. I watched my late grandfather build and run his own business from the ground up, and later saw my dad take it over and grow it even further. Being surrounded by that work ethic and independence from an early age made entrepreneurship feel like a natural path I knew I wanted to pursue.
As a kid, I wasn’t too sure of what I would want to do for a career, but looking back, the signs were always there. I was constantly rearranging rooms, obsessed with how spaces felt, and paying attention to details most people overlooked. Interior design wasn’t something I suddenly discovered later in life; it was something I’d been drawn to in my own way for as long as I can remember.
I went on to attend the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) of Los Angeles, where I obtained a degree in Professional Designation in Interior Design. I valued every aspect of the education and gained a strong foundation that continues to shape my approach to design today.
While I was still in school, I founded Alyssa Rose Interiors. I started small, creating merchandise for my friends to wear, sharing my work in Facebook groups to build awareness, and taking on clients, all while working another full-time job.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Starting Alyssa Rose Interiors while still in school and working a full-time job required a level of discipline and sacrifice I was not fully prepared for at the time. There were many long nights spent completing coursework, developing marketing strategies, and finding ways to build my clientele, all while maintaining another job. Even now, as I continue pursuing my MBA, I am balancing academics with actively building and refining my business.
One of the biggest challenges was shifting from being passionate about design to truly thinking like a business owner. Over time, my growth has been rooted in clarity and refinement. I have become more confident in my pricing, more intentional with the clients I take on, and more strategic about the long-term direction of my brand. Creativity comes naturally to me, but building a sustainable company requires structure, patience, and resilience.
There were also moments of self-doubt, especially in an industry that can feel highly curated and competitive online. Those seasons pushed me to define my voice more clearly and focus on creating meaningful spaces rather than comparing myself to others. The growth may not always be loud, but it has been steady and foundational, and that foundation is what will support everything to come.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Alyssa Rose Interiors?
Alyssa Rose Interiors is a full-service residential design studio focused on creating spaces that feel as beautiful as they are functional. I specialize in transforming homes into environments that support everyday life while blending aesthetics with thoughtful planning. My design style leans warm, layered, and refined, with an emphasis on balance, texture, and livability.
What sets me apart is the level of care I bring to both the design and the client experience. I am deeply involved in the details, from space planning and material selection to ensuring the overall flow of a home feels cohesive and natural. I believe beautiful design should not only photograph well, but truly enhance the way a home feels to live in.
Brand wise, I am most proud of building something that feels elevated and trustworthy. I want my clients to feel confident, understood, and fully supported throughout the entire process. Design can feel overwhelming, especially when making meaningful investments in your home, and I genuinely enjoy guiding clients through it in a way that feels clear and collaborative. It is not about chasing trends or loud moments, but about creating lasting spaces and building a name clients feel proud to invest in.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating work that has meaning and longevity. I care deeply about building something that lasts, both in the spaces I design and in the reputation I am establishing. A home is where life unfolds. It is where families gather, where memories are made, and where people recharge from the outside world. Being trusted to shape that environment is something I do not take lightly.
It also matters to me that the process feels just as intentional as the final result. I want my clients to feel confident, informed, and genuinely proud of the investment they are making in their home. Beautiful design is important, but integrity, trust, and clarity matter even more. When those things are present, the design naturally follows.
I am interested in creating spaces and a brand that stand the test of time.
