Inspiring Conversations with Ashley Monique Robinson of C.H.A.N.G.E.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Monique Robinson.

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an entrepreneur, author, radio host and professor. I am from Montgomery, Alabama. I was raised by a single mother. My mother did the best she could to provide me with the necessities of life. Observing my surroundings made me develop a passion to help the community. Through hard work, dedication and determination I started a nonprofit organization to help underprivileged families.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely not been an easy road for me. I have endured many things in life. A lot of those things I highlight in my books entitled Reconnecting My Brokenness: Tips To Renew Your Mind. I had to come to grips with my reality and take control of it. Once I made it through the struggles of life, I used those struggles and my story to help others.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of a nonprofit organization. C.H.A.N.G.E. (Connecting Hands by Accommodating Necessary Growth for Everyone) is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is geared towards serving individuals in need through providing services. The mission of C.H.A.N.G.E. is to enhance services and community mobilization through providing needed education, resources, and mentorship to promote holistic growth for underprivileged families. The organizational objectives focus on community mobilization, community-based education, resources, and mentorship. Through this nonprofit organization, events and programs are conducted to serve the needy and educate the community on behavioral health topics.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk taking is categorized into three areas. Those three areas are low risk, medium risk and high risk. When deciding on whether to take a risk, an individual should examine the potential benefits and consequences of the risk. If the risk appears to have more benefits versus consequences, then it may be a good idea to take that risk. Now when making any decision that involves risks, there is always a possibility that the situation may not go as planned. When the situation starts to go into another direction, one must be able to handle whatever comes with that decision. I actually took a risk by starting my nonprofit organization and it was a great decision.
