Hidden Gems: Meet William Gross of Universally Unknown

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Gross.

William Gross

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Throughout my life, I have always been a dreamer and a creative. After studying medicine and finance in school, I always wanted to give back. So, after living worldwide, including the Philippines, Aspen, New York City, and beyond, I landed in Los Angeles to give back to the creative community. Hence, Universally Unknown started simply as a music management agency to help clean up the industry and give the natural talent of the world the chance to get a shot at success truly. Now, Universally Unknown is a global company managing over 30 clients in the art and music spaces and primarily concentrating on art investment strategies for museums, institutions, and the top 100 collectors worldwide.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Never a smooth road in business. Let’s say I have seen it all: clients stealing from me, people lying, and nearly going bankrupt multiple times. Don’t expect anything but a lot of failure in running your own business before you see success.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
