Today we’d like to introduce you to Preciosa Dominguez.

Hi Preciosa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Preciosa. I am 26 years old and about 3 years ago I decided to pursue a vision I created while attending a college 10 hours away from home. While attending a university so far away from home I started to realize my goal and wish wasn’t necessarily to pursue a degree. I always knew I wanted to own or manage a business and although college was definitely headed in that direction, I became interested in the beauty industry and the endless possibilities.

I’ve always grown up in the beauty world. Being raised by a mother who was a hairstylist and in a Latina house hold I started waxing my legs and upper lip the moment a hair sprouted.

After the pandemic, I decided it was either now or never so I enrolled in a part time esthetics program while working a full time job. 9 months of long days, and hard work I graduated and completed my required 600 hours. I got to meet such amazing people within the program which was one of my favorite parts to the whole experience.

I have been fortunate to grow a loyal and supportive clientele. Nourished to Glow is located in Woodlands Hills and we offer full body waxing with Brazilian Waxes being my most popular service along with customized facials to fit each and every clients skin type and needs.

At Nourished To Glow our mission is to make each and every customer feel relaxed, refreshed, confident, and beautiful. Our goal is to nourish the skin through customized facials and beauty services. We strive to create a fun and relaxing environment for our customers. A safe space.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is ever perfect or easy because if it was then everyone would do it and finish. The hardest obstacle I faced was about 6 months into my business. I always knew I wanted to work for myself and knew I’d rent a space of my own to grow my own clientele.

As soon as I got licensed I decided to jump and quit my full time job to focus 100% on my new business. Although I had an amazing support system throughout the whole process and my clientele was growing, it wasn’t enough. Soon enough I was drowning in business expenses and personal bills. As hard as it was to swallow my pride and step down from being self employed. I knew I needed to at least find a part time job in order to maintain what I was slowly building or quit the dream of becoming a successful esthetician and business owner.

I eventually swallowed my pride and found a job that would work with my schedule. I dedicated my days off to the studio and took in clients before and after my scheduled shifts.

By doing this I was able to continue to grow and get to where I am today.

Most people that know me know I am also a florist & have been for the past 5 years now! But someone new would be surprised.

I am located in San Fernando but offer services throughout the valley. Crafted arrangements and floral workshops for all occasions are always available.
