Hi Kady, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California and have been in the nanny industry for over two decades. I come from a large family and grew up with over 100 foster children. Through this, I have had personal experience with many backgrounds including children with special needs, PTSD, ADHD, arthritis, hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, etc.
As a former career nanny in Chicago, Texas, California and even as an au-pair in Australia. I learned the ins, outs, and in-betweens of the nanny industry by working as a nanny, attending nanny and nanny agency conferences, and taking various courses. I have become an advocate of both nannies and families alike and am happiest when I can help facilitate both parties to achieve a successful, happy relationship. This is why I established Pacific Elite Nannies in 2016 and have quickly become one of the top agencies in Southern California.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For anyone who has started a business and said it has been a smooth road is not being entirely truthful. I believe all businesses have their ups and downs but the important thing is that you learn and grow from each experience, good or bad. It is important to have your tribe and/or a mentor for times when you need guidance or just support. In the beginning, it may seem like you are on your own but as you get to know your industry and contacts as a business owner, you will find the path to success.
